So I killed my 900ss track beater.

I was gonna sell it off and buy another 675 but my inner tightwad keeps rearing his ugly head and has me thinking.

I do (somewhere) have a clear title for this bike. 

How feasible would it be to convert it back to a street ride, dump in a 1kds, run flat slides and that add on ignition unit?

Help me ball park a cost to do this. .   I know i'll need all of the above plus a wiring harness (this one has had all the light/signal wires removed), right and left controls, headlight/taillight/signals and some other stuff I'm probably forgetting.

Is there a better or easier way to run the 1kds?  Buy a salvage bike and gut what I need off it?  I was thinking FCR's to get around the red key of doom.

salvage bike would give you most of what you'd need...

but with the cost of salvage bikes why not just find a 1000 SS?

Well, I figure I can find a 675 for about $5500.

If the cost is anywhere near that, I'll just go find one of them.

If i can convert for like half of that or less, I'd be tempted to do it.
