next week looks to be good weather and I hope to have my Duc back by then with new "dark" pieces to show.
I'll look into venues later, now I must beat the rain and tend to the yard.
I'll keep an eye on the weather and this thread. [thumbsup]
What a coincidence; I happen to be eating lunch that day too :D
Duke's in Addison? They have a great patio, HUGE in fact.
Make it a bit after noon-o'clock and I'll be there.
Addison? Where is that? ???
10m, in traffic, north of my house
Dukes, isn't that the old steak house spot near Midway and Beltline? Hoffbrau wasn't it??
noon thirty it is then.
If I'm free I could actually walk to a meet. Being an Eastie is getting better all the time [thumbsup]
From home you could but not work unless you walk fast, very fast

And its going to keep getting better. Big things are in the works, friends!
I can see I'm going to need to move to Big D. Let's see...friends who ride [moto], bars to drink in [drink] work, kids school, bars to drink in [drink] shopping, restaurants, bars to drink in [drink] entertainment, and bars to drink in [drink]. I'll have to think about it some more. [beer]
Being a native Dallas-ite I can officially say this: Ft. Worth is much better! [thumbsup] Nicer folks, bad drivers too but not nearly as stupid and deadly as Dallas yahoos, better museums and zoo and a city council and commissioners court that aren't complete sell out assholes and don't get arrested and sent to prison! That's just for starters! There isn't a week that goes by that Jen and I don't say to each other "where are we going to move to as soon as Colin graduates?" BigD just thinks WAY too much of itself and so do a lot of the jerks that live here. It just wasn't this bad 20-25 years ago. I don't know if they moved here or were born here and raised to be assholes by their parents? International city my ass... [bang] >:(
OK... back to lunch. ;D
uh... i think we were all talking about the fun meetups...
And you elect DA's with criminal records! See, now you dragged me into this old fart.
Back to lunch or else I'll be banned
Banned?!? Oh-Oh! Pick me! (Maybe I need to go back to the Left-Lane Camping topic to do it up right...) [evil]
ato, it's great to hear we've got some new social things coming; I'll start practicing now on being sociable.
Don't take tips from old fart
What you talking about Willis? ;D

Ok, I guess I'll stick around here then. You can come over anytime you want! [thumbsup] It is nice being only 10 mintues to Sundance Square.

[coffee] So Duke's in Addison this Wednesday... 12:30?
I'm in. Milli has put us on a liquid diet, so I'll be drinking a healthy shake while staring at your food.
Diet? Damn, you don't need to be on a diet! She won't be there, have a steak! We won't tell. [thumbsup] [bacon]
i had the "Dirty Love Burger" at the Loveshack last week in Fort Worth. She'll notice if I'm not getting much change over here... haha
you girls better be there. [evil]
Aye, aye, maggot!

Take a tip from this guy [thumbsup] :

too bad for u, very nice and ample patio.
Can't wait. Looking forward to this [thumbsup] I'll be on the Guzzi - it's got more wind protection :o
Speaking of Guzzis (yeah a minor threadjack, sorry ;D ), I've been experimenting with three Power Commander maps that I downloaded from a Guzzi V11 forum. Having ridden around all day trying the different maps, I've narrowed it down to one that performs reeasonable well across the entire rev range.
What I'm wondering is if anyone coming to lunch tomorrow has any experience reading Power Commander maps (charts)? I'd like to bring all three maps and have someone with more FHE s'plain all d'im l'il numbers to me [bang] [laugh] I can see how I could make a hybrid map using the first part of one map to cover idle - 4,000 rpm, with pieces from the others to work on 4,000 - 6,000, and then a bit of another map that works great in the 6,000 - 8,5000. Combined all together, I'll have one big, bad ass, gas-guzzling Guzzi Map From Hell.
[beer]
you should bring 'em so i can see what power commander maps/charts look like. I'm interested.
get it done professionally. I always do when it's about mapping a bike. I can sure bolt shit right up but not this.
what?
I'll bring the maps [thumbsup] Muskrat, can you bring the tailbag? I'd like to see if it works on the Guzzi [moto]
Will do
Hey Red, that's some Dagwood!
Who knows, mAybe I can ride up and say hi. I cranked out
some serious work today. [bacon]
Count me in! [thumbsup]
I actually got to stay in town this week so getting out of the house for lunch is perfect. 8)
OK, deleted my "not going" post. Still busy as hell but I deserve a short ride and lunch w/friends. Especially since there will be no riding allowed this weekend due to some sort of holiday and invasion of in-laws at our house for Honey Glazed ham. :P I seemed to have pulled the short straw and get to do all the yard work (before it rains on Friday), all of the indoor house cleaning and (just for fun [bang]) get all our tax stuff together and take it to our CPA in Ft. Worth. Again, I'm making time for lunch today. [thumbsup] [beer] [bacon]
I'll be there, between noon-thirty and noon-fourty-two.
Very nice lunch! My hamburger was really good. Great to see everyone as always and very nice to finally meet David and his friend. Doh!! [bang] I've already forgotten her name... just another attack of a "senior moment"! At least I didn't drench anyone with the spilled tumbler of ice water! Just another one of my typically classy exits. [thumbsup]
Look forward to the next get together. David keep an eye peeled for ride threads. It's now officially spring riding season in Texas... with the 40+mph winds that go along with it! We need to get some riding in before the thunderstorm season hits.
See y'all soon.
great seeing everyone.
David, you need to start modding that bike man. We got many, many ideas for you. [beer]
Nice to have met you finally and of course your girl.
[beer] Good lunch ! Good call Dax on this spot - I would go back for sure ! Just to prove it happened pix are @

Don't know about y'all but kinda getting tired of the daily blow job the weather has been providing lately ! [laugh]
Yea, I need to get the mods to ride with this group. I may just pull into AMS and tell Josh (I think that's his name) to hook it up.
It was great hanging out with you guys as well. Look forward to some great runs in the future. [thumbsup]
Cool man - yeah, I'm Josh.
You got options. We'll go over 'em all, and you can see what you like, what you don't and the relative advantages and disadvantages.
For opening the clutch, there are a few big benefits:
- Clutch runs cooler (longer clutch life)
- Clutch dust is expelled (can reduce slipping as the clutch ages)
- Sweet sweet sound
- Looks fantastic, mesmerizes children
The common route is clutch cover, the pressure plate (which is immediately visible behind the clutch cover), the springs (that stick up through the pressure plate - replace with stainless so they don't get tarnished or rusty), and the spring caps (sometimes called spring retainers, finishes off the good looks).
- Three most common materials for the cover are billet aluminum ($$), carbon fiber ($$), titanium ($$$). Comes in various colors.
- Pressure plates are made of billet aluminum, and are lighter than the cast original. Comes in various colors.
- Springs are replaced with stainless
- Spring keepers/caps/retainers are available in two varieties - individual and spiders. usually in aluminum, can be found in titanium. The purported advantages of the spider systems are mostly nonsense (the caps rest on the clutch hub posts themselves, there's no "balancing" to be done...) but if you like the look, that's what matters.
Sure wish I coulda showed :(
good day for a good turnout. Glad you guys had fun [thumbsup]

Yep, it's a slippery slope once you make that first mod... I'm afraid we're going to be a bad influence [bang] [laugh]
Great lunch spot Dax - might just have to make Duke's a "regular" hangout for Duc lunches in the future. Awesome patio with plenty of shade
and decent parking. Let's go there again sometime soon [thumbsup]
David,
You don't NEED mods on your bike to ride with us at all. Ever. There's just all that damn pressure and underlying sense of inadequacy that goes with thinking that maybe your bike isn't cool enough. Then the more you think about it (laying awake at night) you start to feel like maybe it's a reflection on you personally. My bike's not cool enough... so what does everyone think about me?? Would a vented clutch cover be enough? If I do that then I have to have a groovy pressure plate and spring button kit. Then there's the whole carbon fiber issue. What if they start making me park my bike across the street (like they do with my Jap bikes! [bang]) or make me sit at another table? There is just no end to the drama and mental fatigue. It's taxing.
Or you can just hand over your checkbook, charge card and scooter to us and the universe will once again be in alignment. All will be right with the world. [thumbsup] On the other hand... screw it, let's just ride! [clap] But, like we said at lunch, we can be a bad influence on those who want to leave things stock. [evil] [laugh] [laugh]

Ask Alex, he uttered the same and next time I saw him he had all kinds of goodies. This group loves to spend money, he'll you're already there with a 1098 [thumbsup]
Plus if you spend enough at AMS, they'll know you by
name when walk in the place... Priceless ;D
There's nothing like walking in a place where everyone knows your name....(as the cheers theme plays in the background)..... [laugh]
Fastwin, you're right I'm good as is........ But the pressure plate and clutch cover looks so cool though...... [moto]
I knew you'd fall prey
Great...now I can't get that song out of my head. [bang]

Only because we notice all the women gushing over the upcoming pugglepod and jealously builds within.
find it in stock because SpeedyMoto will not deliver.....ask me how I know. [bang]

Hell, where did all this other waiting that I over looked come from? Looks like put it off forever wins this contest!! [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] There, it's settled! ;D
