Title: change clutch
Post by: Mikkel67 on March 24, 2010, 01:23:54 PM
Hi,

Now my clutch parts finally have arrived. I am going to change clutch basket and plates on my s4r 2005. I do have the tool for the basket. Do you have any tips on how I should change the clutch basket? And how to make sure that all the plates are in correct order, and that the dots are in the correct place when I put it back. And how much torque is needed to tighten it again?

Help is needed and appreciated.

it's still on page one... at the bottom, but still

Dots?  What dots...?
As far as keeping the plate order - just use a sharpie and number them.

For a Monster 900, the hub nut needs to be torqued to 128Nm
The retaining bolts for the basket get 32Nm, and are supposed to get a dose of flange sealant. Think black RVT or similar.
Well, read my walk through - should cover any questions. If not... ask away
