I've heard Harley douche bags with straight pipes that will rattle windows from 4 blocks away. These assh*les are going to ruin for everyone someday. Remarkably, boomtubes aren't THAT loud, they are loud, just not entirely deafening.

I would imagine a lot of it depends on where you live though.
