OK, its late, I'm tired. I'll keep this short.
Why did I do this? Eh, I don't know
1st, I started with the regular Ducati Monster 800 setup.

So then I read a bunch of stuff on here that said you need to drop your headlight if you're going to install clip ons below the top triple, so I started on that.
First step, take the headlight off.

Then take the headlight bracket off.

Take the headlight bracket and grind off the support things, I used a dremel. I smoothed out the welds a little more.

I don't have any pictures, but drill some holes in the support things and then get some bolts and bolt them back on but about an inch lower.
I also don't have any pictures of this, but loosen the 3 bolts holding on the top triple clamp, they are allen screws. Then use a rubber mallet and hammer it off.
Drop the clip ons on like below.

Reassemble stuff. The ZX6R clip ons are kind of short, so everything is a REALLY TIGHT fit. My brake and clutch levers have like 1mm of clearance, but they still function well. You'll end up with something similar to below.

Reassemble everything and take the original bars off etc blah blah blah. Yes I know I still have the original mirrors on LOL I'm getting some bar ends.

Not to bad eh? I'll post more pictures and what not, just wanted to get a start on this tonight.
I recently put gsxr 1000 clipons below the top triple (after upgrading to adjustable forks [thumbsup]) and it turned out really well. I would suggest you lower the gauges it will look much better after that!
[beer]
How did you lower your gauges? Did you use the same process as outlined on this site in one of the posts somewhere around here?
Do you have pictures?
I didn't lower them that much, the rubber stop in between the gauges and the top triple can be removed to lower it about an inch. (It makes a big difference) Which is what I have done for the time being. You can go more extreme than that by lowering everything including the headlight bracket and pushing the gauge set to mount just underneath the triple. I will post a few pictures after work. Cheers!
Ajw85 - how is your turning radius after you installed the clip-ons. You've got them raked back nicely, and I'd love to do that with my M1100, but I wouldn't be able to maneuver in parking lots anymore.

I actually can't comment on this yet as I haven't had time to get out and ride it and really get a feel for it. I can tell you that I have the clip ons at an angle where when the front end is turned, the steering stop hits before the clip ons or anything mounted to the clip ons touches the tank.
I'll let you know what its really like when I go for a long ride.
Looks good!
I agree, with the U headlight cut, the bike will look better if you put the guages below the triple. I did on mine...its easy

Hey Duc got anymore pics of the stabilizer set-up?
Whats with lowering the headlight? Is that universal for all monsters that want clip ons?
What are you guys doing with your brake lines? I have rotated my banjo bolts to try to ease the strain on the lines when I jam everything back together, is that what you guys are doing? Or.... new brake lines ????
That's exactly what I did when I went to clip ons. I rotated the banjos, and tweaked the wire harness and cable routing until it all fit stress free. It was no doubt the hardest part of the project, taking the most time and effort.
