picked up some brembo goldline masters that need new levers.

What fitment should I be looking for?  They're 'small pivot' i can tell by looking, but does anyone know if specific levers work better/best?

Also, any suggestions for the brake light switch?

if you're looking aftermarket, there's all the usual suspects for levers... I don't think any of them have known issues for install, just different adjustability.

you could look for someone parting out a 998 and buy the brake switch from them, or find a way to bypass/close the circuit and be done with it.

I just opened the case of the 620's switch, cut a piece of plastic out of a blister pack and sandwiched it in there.  then zip-tied the switch in with everything else behind the headlight.

I meant for it to be a band-aid so I could just finish my install... but I'm lazy and that was probably a couple of years ago and haven't had a problem with it

There are some banjo bolts with built in pressure switches.

so does that many any levers with the small pivot will work?
When I poked around on ASV and CRGs websites, there were different model numbers for different bikes.  I just don't want to pay for them and they don't work.

the small pivots will work. or just look for levers listed for the 998

Early Ducatis (before 99) have a large hollow 12mm pivot bolt and original black or anthracite adjustable levers. All "coffin style" master cylinders use the large hollow pivot.

Most newer bikes (after 1999) have the small solid 8mm pivot bolt with a flat screwdriver head on the top and silver adjustable levers

Many Aprilias also use the later (post 99) small pivot mount.  You can actually get decent adjustable levers generic out of Parts Unlimited for next to nothing on these later style levers.  Unfortunately that is not the case with the large pivot.

so have the masters here and I'm trying to determine the part number.  I downloaded a catalog from brembo but the numbers didn't seem to match.  these look like
Brake - 10.6868 or 10.6888 or 10.8888 or 10.5868
Clutch - 10.6939 or 10.5939

The Brembo site didn't seem to have any technical information Anyone know a resource I can dig through to figure this out?

they list the mfr pns as 110.2706.46 and 110.2706.47 for the brake and clutch levers

clutch master is 10.6940.23

brake master is 10.6870.11 (for black colored monster application)

thank you for the lever part numbers.  I did see those part numbers for the master cylinders on motowheels site, but they didn't match the ones in my hand, which prompted my most recent post.  Confusing when what's in your hand doesn't match what research you can find.

what can I say? they're italian  [cheeky]

at the very least, if you've sourced the masters off a ducati, and know the pin size (small with flats, vs. larger hollow)  I wouldn't worry too much about the part numbers...

oh, and your lines will match right up when swapping, as well.  [thumbsup]

Driven grips, SSR res covers, plain jane adjustable levers.  Thank you Monster Parts (ordered on Tuesday before I went out of town and they were waiting for me when I got back).

Had some trouble bleeding the clutch side, so I leaned the bike way over on it's right side and I think I got the last of the air out.  Bleeding the brakes with the bleeder right on the master.. wow how easy.  seriously two pumps with the bleeder and done.

I still need to figure out the brake light switch and the clutch interlock thingee...

anyone know if the shoulder bolts that hold the pee cups on can be obtained?  My local has-everything, for-real, old-school hardware store didn't have anything.  One of mine is rashed up and it bugs me seeing it.

Trying to find allen head screws for the brake res too.  Trying to eliminate all he phillips/standard screw heads on my bike so I don't have to carry them in my tool kit.

your stock switch for coffin style master. will fit. You might only manage to get one screw in instead of the 2 but it holds it on well enough. i use double sided tape just incase. Its been on for 2 years now and still working.

As for your levers you needs some ducati performance/DPM Race levers cos they are prettyful.

but how did you use the stock itty bitty screws on the new masters?  There are a couple of holes in the master but they're in the M4 range of size.  Those screws on the switch are tiny.

i wanted to ride today so I used some strategically layered and placed double stick tape.  Worked through my 100 mile cruising ride.  we'll see how it lasts until I can do something more permanent.

i managed to get the bigger sized screw through the hole on the switch.
its amazing what ignorance and a powered screwdriver can do.

I didn't see any way the coffin brake switch would work on the goldline masters...


not that it matters now  [roll] for me anyway
