Title: M1100 service reminder ~ dealer only???
Post by: dennisd on March 30, 2010, 05:09:33 AM
I tried searching but wasn't able to find an answer to my question (could just be my search skills or lack thereof).  I remember reading a thread about resetting the service reminder on the latest generation of monsters but don't remember if there was a solution.  Is it possible for the owner to reset the reminder or is it now a dealer only function.

if you work with your dealer, you may be able to get them to turn the light off for you if you are a self-servicing kind of guy. I'm not real sure about the protocol there, but if you are a home-wrencher, it would be worth inquiring.

Yea, I saw that post when I searched but unfortunately that is for a S4R.  Maybe there is some combo of switch/key manipulation on the 696 and 1100 but no one seems to know the way.  I'm thinking Ducati changed it so the dealers can benefit by being the only ones that can reset it.

I've got the Wrench Merit Badge on my 696... I proudly keep it as a symbol of my DIY philosophy ;-)
