Title: advice on mirrors
Post by: bigfella on March 31, 2010, 06:59:43 PM
had a small accident the other day  [bang](only hurt my pride!!)
took the turn into my street WAY too slow (lots of gravel and s#$t on the road)
pretty much just lost momentum and fell my leg took 90% of the impact but my brake lever is bent and right mirror a few scratches and the heel guard over the termi's a couple of marks
so now im on the hunt for some new mirrors
i love the look of the bar end on the monsters but ive heard that visibility is nothing or close enough to nothing
so id love to hear from anyone who has them what the general word is from you guys  [bow_down]
ill be buying a cheep set from flea bay first up if i get them until i get used the extra length on the side so i dont smash up a good pair
thanks
big fella

I've got bar end mirrors on mine & the visibility is fine.  The only negative is that you need to tilt your head down to look into them as they are much lower than the factory mirrors.

Other than that I love them....& they look cool! [thumbsup]

Bummer about your bike (and leg - ouch). Seems to be a bit of a trend lately.  Obviously we are not making enough sacrifices to the gods of bling at the moment.

I have rizoma bar ends.  IMHO they are a huge improvement on factory ones for vision.  Unlike my factory ones, I don't get to check out my elbows and I don't find I have to move to look in them. My 2c worth.  [thumbsup]  Don't know what sort of view you would get from cheaper ones.  Plenty of brands to choose from anyway.

Sorry about your little off.

I think you might be mistaken, bar end mirrors give you far better vision the any stock position bling set.
I have had more than my fair share of mirrors on both bikes and my CRG land splitters are #1 in my book.

moses? who the hell is moses?
CRG lane splitters are awesome, 3" round convex mirror that gives excellent vision with no vibration, and they flip in for filtering through traffic. oh and they're great quality, anodised billet that suits the monster spot on.

paul.

Sorry about your little off. It seem the thing at the moment, I didn't damage my mirror which was a bit of a surprise. I do like the rizoma mirrors but each to their own
