Had to stick up for the Ducks. Someone posted how they never had any problems with their 900SS and someone replied with a bunch of laughing smiley things.

01 600 - ~18,500
04 s4r - ~ 19,500
both should be over 25k by the end of summer. Wish I could ride all year.

He may have been laughing at the comparison because BMW isn't always very reliable...

I have 2 older Beemers which are as reliable as the Duck, but apparently the new ones
aren't faring so well.

BMW have topped one of the most important UK charts, but it is probably not something they will want to boast about. The latest figures published by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA), a government agency responsible for the safe operation of vehicles, show the German manufacturer has issued the highest number of safety recalls. Not only that, they have the highest number of machines affected by recalls as well.
The recalls relate to gearboxes and brake problems, but despite BMW playing it down, owners point out that the VOSA table only relates to potential life threatening problems and does not take into account other issues, of which there are plenty!
18K on the S2R Monster, 2K on the 848 [thumbsup]

Good to know... I'll admit its STILL hard for me to shake off the belief that Ducati's are prone to premature mechanical failure. And I'm still under the impression that maintenance on the Duc is a pregnant dog, too (maybe because it is?).
When I first bought the bike, I told myself that I'd only ride her sparingly, but after the first day I fell in love and now I can't go a day without taking her out for a ride! I even feel guilty getting her all dirty and used up. :-[ Hmm... maybe I'll buy another bike to offset the usage? Or maybe I'll just say make the beast with two backs it and just enjoy her as long as I can. [moto]

What kind of tach is that (I really wish my 900 had one)?
almost 18,000 miles-now if it would just stop snowing so I could ride some more....
4200 on an 09 696. The Starbuck's is pretty close though.
[cheeky]
A whopping 3km on mine!!
(have yet to get my new bike on the road) ;D
Got my 696 in the middle of July and got exactly 4000 miles on it before the snow. Put another 120 miles today though and will put another 100 or so tomorrow. Can't believe its in the 80's in NY in April.
