Title: Outlaw awards Post by: hatewinter on April 01, 2010, 09:11:16 PM I want to know who has gotten into the most trouble on their duc? Speeding tickets, fleeing(successful or unsuccessful), etc.
I have been riding for less than a year. Never had a speeding ticket, but I'm getting bored with the speed limits. What's your average highway speed? Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: Grampa on April 02, 2010, 04:53:41 AM I shot a man in Reno while on my Duc..... just to watch him die.

Speeding tickets, fleeing(successful or unsuccessful), etc. I think that in regards to your inquiry about speeding tickets, you may find your responses to be limited. It's a well known fact that law enforcement frequent sites like these (some may even be fellow Duc riders and members). So I highly doubt that anyone would post up any incriminating information. Additionally real outlaw bikers now monitor this forum and will be alerted if it is perceived that you have disrespected them in any way. We are all great big pussies here and sit on the internet all day making sure there is no porn around because we are too scared to actually ride our bikes. I suspect the responses to this thread will be limited. sac /ride at your own comfort level there sport // if you wanna go do crazy shit that's fine but this is probably the wrong place to look for an attaboy ///do the crazy shit because its fun not because people are looking Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: Adamm0621 on April 02, 2010, 06:09:01 AM The fastest I've ever gone is 88 mph... then the flux capacitor kicks in and I end up somewhere else. ;D

Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: booger on April 02, 2010, 06:37:12 AM I got stopped by the Sheriff the other night, on a smooth flat road with no real twisties. I like to feel the acceleration, not so much top speed, so I goosed it to 80 or so and engine braked back down. He got me going 75 in a 55. This road is one of those roads that you could go 120 safely on but because of the agricultural activity during the day I suppose it's limited to 55. Anyway he let me go, guess he liked the bike or something, but he told me he let me go because I stopped. Most of the time people don't. I don't run from the police.
Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: Popeye the Sailor on April 02, 2010, 06:53:45 AM I got a ticket for 110 in a 40. Oops.

I was in 6th gear on the 848.... speed can be assumed here.... nuff said. That said though I did get it up to about 115 a while back to get an idea of what it's like, how the bike would handle it, etc. I do want to be a skilled and competent rider, but not a menace to society, I'll leave that to the squids.
Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: scooby on April 02, 2010, 07:05:53 AM This is a bit embarrassing but... Out in the boon docks, Washington state, riding a long straightaway, 50mph posted limit, doing 80-100 off and on, came upon a pick up truck going 60 in a posted passing zone, but since I was doing 90, I passed and it happened to turn into a no passing zone at that moment. Yup, the pick up was a sheriff; he only had a star on his door, not the back and no lights. Oops. He only gave me an illegal passing ticket, no speeding and he laughed at me when he so... ha ha ha
Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: hatewinter on April 02, 2010, 07:58:24 AM Great stuff. Can't you be arrested if you're going so much over the speed limit?
Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: KRJ on April 02, 2010, 08:16:51 AM It's not how many tickets you've got, it's how many times you've lost your license!!! I 'll have to add the last few years up, but I saved most all My tickets from 12yrs. old riding dirt bikes to date, last count, a few years ago, was around 56. I still hold the Fremont county sheriff's record for longest DMV report. I'll look at lunch to get a positive count. Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: NorDog on April 02, 2010, 08:23:00 AM I popped a wheelie. Once. On accident.
Does that count? Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: Povidius on April 02, 2010, 08:26:29 AM Great stuff. Can't you be arrested if you're going so much over the speed limit? In california, they can impound your vehicle if you're 30+ over the posted limit. I learned the hard way (30 day impound ain't cheap, either). Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: Porsche Monkey on April 02, 2010, 02:17:23 PM I did 140 on a 620 once.
Seriously though my 900 has crept up on an indicated 135mph once or twice. Ive been pulled over plenty. I never have run from a po po that was behind me pursuing but there may have an instance or two where I poured the coals on while they were turning around and they may have not been able to catch back up. That would have also happened a long time ago before I grew up. ;D Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: lethe on April 02, 2010, 02:22:01 PM I've never done anything bad and obey all traffic laws.
Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: CapnCrunch on April 02, 2010, 04:07:23 PM I've not noticed cops and lost them. told later they were after me by others...
in Virginia they have to stop chasing you after you break 120 and in salt lake city they cannot chase you at all unless a felony prior to running has occurred. Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: Preisker on April 02, 2010, 07:54:03 PM 135 plus. On Radar. Evasion. They came to my house. Off to jail, bike was towed. I had a license, registration, and insurance. Bailed out that night, got my bike back the next morning, $168. They were supposed to keep it for 30 days, the cops told me, but the impound guy let me get it. I rode right by the station, and they were all standing there. It was all I could do to not pull a standup wheelie past them at about 125. But I didn't.
In court, I received 180 days, of which I did 77 in jail, the rest on home detention/work furlough, which cost $27/day, for another $2700+. $1600 fine, $5000 for a lawyer to keep me out of prison (they wanted either 13 or 16 months in jail for endangering the cops life by making him chase me). Apparently my lawyer golfs with the judge, so $5000 was OK with me, since I am just NOT prison material. Kept my job, the boss thought it was funny as hell, kept my license, and my insurance didn't even go up. Monterey County Jail sucks. If you are going to do it, don't go home. It's easy enough to get away from them, but if you live in an area long enough, they know where you live. I don't do that shit any more. Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: Bigbore4 on April 03, 2010, 06:52:50 AM I am a rather large rider, I have the Monster geared about 10% lower. She runs out of steam about 1.2, routinely. I won't talk about the FJR here, except for Indy to Bonneville in 32 hrs.
When I was a young lad, I did confirm that 5 tickets in one summer is too many in the state of Minnesota. 4 were on my Yamaha XS 650. ;D Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: 77south on April 03, 2010, 02:22:12 PM I didn't know so many of you lived in germany and drove on the autobahn. Yes, he let me off with a verbal warning. :o On that same trip A police officer on the dragon lit up going the other way. I just kept going and figured if he wanted to stop me he eventually would come up behind me. No such luck. Does that count as a 6 star grand theft auto chase? Title: Re: Outlaw awards Post by: Punx Clever on April 03, 2010, 04:53:59 PM I once was accused of popping a wheelie in front of the local police station. I was pulled over on another street about a quarter mile from the city limits and the officer gave me a ticket for careless driving. When I went to court I argued that the officer couldn't prove that it was ME on MY red motorcycle that he saw pop a wheelie since he not only lost sight of the vehicle in question, but had to get in his car, make two turns to get onto the street I was on (going through numerous other intersections along the way), and fight through traffic before he saw me on a red motorcycle and assumed it was me.
The judge (who is basically a rubber stamp for the local police, she has a bad record) stopped me while I was asking the officer questions. She asked me flat out, "Did you pull that wheelie?" To which I responded, "I don't have to answer that question." She ended the hearing and ruled guilty. The charges were dismissed before the appeal was even heard. [thumbsup] |
