Title: Mounting Hi-Mount Termis on a 2000 M900S (Bracket Question)
Post by: nomadwarmachine on April 02, 2010, 08:17:02 AM

Got a lovely set of hi-mount Termis from a DML member who sold them off of an M620ie and am preparing to mount them to my 2000 M900Sie.  I've got two brackets that came with the pipes: (1) a small one that appears to go on the right; and (2) a long one that appears to mount on the left.

Does anybody have any insight into how these brackets mount to the frame?  I've seen some photos of the right-hand bracket mounting around the seat lock, but would love a close-up shot of somebody's set-up so I can see how these attach exactly.  Or if you have a link to a set of Termi install instructions, that would be awesome.

Thanks!!!

They go under the tail using the section that goes under the beer tray. I've mounted a set like that before - though memory is a little IZ_ and my bike isn't handy to look at. But I've got a 2000 900s so it can be done. Some vague recollection of using the rear mounts for the frame splash guard comes to mind (the plastic bit under the seat).

Those are different than the mounts on that kit I did, which I believe is that same mount set up as nomadwarmachine is dealing with.  If his is like mine was, there's no straps that go around the frame as shown in your 4th photo.

Fabulous looking M900.  Did you powedercoat or paint the clutch/alternator covers and footpegs?

I powder coated the stock rearsets but had to rattle can the covers because i didnt want to have to pop out all the site glasses and then face leaks in the future...and ducpainter advised against just such an endeavor....i used a high temp engine enamel to do it too and it seems to be holding pretty well so far...about 500 miles of riding since doing that  [thumbsup]
