I chopped the stock tail on my M1100. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I'm still waiting on a pair of license plate bolt lights as I cut off the stock one, but other than that it's good to go! What do all think?
looks good [thumbsup] - 10x better than stock
Yeah, why not [thumbsup]
Looks better and costs nothing - always a good feeling to have done it yourself :)
Nicely done! I think I like it better than my DP kit!
The DP kit was sort of my inspiration, however I preferred to have the plate under the fender. The trickiest part was blending in the lower half of the signal staulks. I cut the lower piece just aft of the signals and tried to blend it into the curve portion. Hard to explain, but I'm happy!
Installed some LED license plate lights yesterday. They do the job, but would almost need some spacers to move the bulbs away from the plate to better illuminate the entire plate. The stamped lettering actually interferes with the light somewhat.

I have the LED bolts on my plate. they are bolted on the upper two holes. Works fine. Does light up the sides of the letter more then directly down on them, but it looks fine, and the cops can see it if they look hard enough.
