Long time ago one of my childhood buddies had a jet ski....only it wasn't a small boat looking thing either. Had a big skid on the front that steered, and a jet. Sat real low in the water when not running.
Tonight I saw some snowmobiles racing on the water, and it reminded me of that thing....only I can't remember what it was called, nor find an image online of what it was.
Anyone know?
About 0:17-0:25 ??

I think James Bond even rode one! (The spy who loved me?)
Thanks!
I needs to get me one of those...and turbo it [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
They made an appearance in Police Academy 3 when they were storming the island where the hostages were being held.
I saw one for sale locally a few years ago.
I really wanted to buy it.
I talked to a friend that has been on one.
Said it is harder then hell to drive. Took a lot of practice.
I think every thread should have a Police Academy 3 reference. ;D

I rode a WetBike many moons ago.
Yes, difficult to ride.
Interesting ride, but CG is very high and rearward when it's up on plane, so it'll get into a 'tankslapper' pretty easily.
IIRC, the powerplant is a Mercury outboard ~80HP or so, with a mixed-flow pump grafted on the bottom.
It'd be a big project to turbo, and would need a LOT of pump work to benefit.
