All you wimps who passed on the last Marg machine need to suck it up and show this time.

Oh and come on an empty stomach - if it's even possible, G's cooking is getting even better.

Is this the same slowpoke that bought the red and white S2R when they first came out?
Sorry for the thread jack. Now back to decks and slushy drinks and hungry people and stuff.

No shit?  Brought a 400 back with you?  That's cool.

Yeah. But, it'll be SOOOO underpowered. I won't swap the engine. But, plan on pods and an exhaust to get a bit of an increase. Otherwise, I want her to be as stock as possible. She's an 03 M400 Dark (matte silver) with carbs and dual front disks. I'll just have to swap with US Gauges (I think). She wont' be much on the freeway. Mainly she'll be the commute bike.

Cool bike. You could also try and "trade up" if you're not attached to it. Lots of people always seem interested in 400cc Ducatis - maybe someone will make you an offer? Or is it not legal to sell it here in the states?

It should be fine here. Japan (main market for the 400) has some of the most restrictive emissions laws in the world.

Grey market bikes are a pain in the arse to bring into the country and title and keep and operate on the public roadways under proper tagging unless you have the practically complimentary paperwork that uncle Sam provides to our military personell.....going through the process otherwise is a freaking nightmare....I found this out when I wanted to get a bike from someone outside Montreal once a long long long time ago....

Funny, I worked the opposite pain.... sourced/bought my S4R from a dealer in Illinois while living in Germany; had an importer bring it over all so I could avoid the hassle of trying to import a grey market S4R into the states. Not the cheapest way to ride, but wasn't hassled when I moved back to the states.

I don't plan on selling it. And registering it shouldn't be a problem. The emission system is the same one they import for US bikes. I'll have to leave it stock to Reg it. But, once I have a title and registration, I can pretty much do what I want with it.
