The pipe on the horiz. cyclinder cracked at the crossover pipe around the weld on one side and had approx. 2" crack going along the pipe on the other side. I thought I heard a leak so looked around and saw the crack. I had it welded and it's ok for now. If it breaks again and can't be fixed may try to get a Sparks or Marving mid pipe. Or get an Arrow or Zard system. It just pisses me off because of what it cost and took 4 weeks to get them when I ordered them. Maybe it'll be alright...
Doesn't Termi have some kind of warranty?
is it a crack along the original weld? Or is it a totally new crack?
One crack is at the outer edge of the weld. The other crack looks like it started at the weld but went length wise along the pipe. There is a small dent near the area on the bottom of the pipe so that is probably the cause, or so they would say if I tried to get replaced under warranty. Doesn't matter now, it's been welded.
I would still be taking it up with someone. Hopefully you took pictures of the damage. I personally will never buy a Termi system again unless it's already on the bike and there's no premium.
Termis are superoverrated, I find that just about every aftermarket manufacturer has a better product.
Put new stickers on the cans...you'll feel better. [cheeky]
A few of us who had the DP (Termi) shotgun CF slip-ons on our desmoquattro S4Rs, reported that the S-pipes were crooked as received. The only real way to fix them was to cut, rotate and weld.
I've since heard a number of stories centered around poor build quality for Termis, and I don't think I've heard nearly as many stories about poor quality for other manufacturers.
I'm looking at getting some Zards when/if I get new exhaust.
mine are crooked but I won the battle. don't ask but I will NEVER buy another Termi setup.
The most crooked part is the price. I won't go back either. They are overrated, but they sure made me smile the day I put them on. But, coming from the stock exhaust, it didn't take much to impress me. Cans are gone, but I still run the DP headers. I like the way they look.
