Title: I got my first speeding ticket and I feel like an idiot Post by: Smiling End on June 01, 2008, 04:30:31 PM So I went for a ride with a buddy of mine today and right when we were almost home he was in front of me going at a pretty good clip and I was ride behind him. We both saw the cop but neither of us in time. She pulled a K-turn and I got pulled over and got a ticket for doing 58 in a 35. I feel so stupid. [bang]
What kind of makes it worse is I'm not even sure if I was speeding, and neither was the cop. She actually said, "well I guess your buddy buried you by taking off." My guess is she radar'd him but got me since he didn't stop. The ticket itself isn't a big deal and she even said I should talk to the prosecutor since I have no points and work out a deal. I guess since I haven't gotten a speeding ticket in around almost ten years I'm just beating myself up a bit. Should be enough doubt to get the ticket either squashed or pled down to something that won;t go on your record... Title: Re: I got my first speeding ticket and I feel like an idiot Post by: c_rex on June 01, 2008, 07:17:53 PM first tickets are almost always lopped right in half if you make even the most ridiculous claim. I remember mine clearly. The magistrate told me that he had just given a guy a break because he was already paying $1200/mo. insurance on his Corvette. Still went on his record apparently but at least the initial sting was cut down to $500. :o

Never admit to having done anything wrong. Ever. Oh I didn't. I'm not that stupid. |
