Title: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: DRKWNG on April 06, 2010, 07:50:52 PM Ok, so a few of us met up last Thursday night and had dinner. The meal was less than grand, but all had a good time none-the-less. Well, except for Laughn not being able to get off the shitter the next day, but I digress... So anyhow, I sent an sms to some of you guys last night about doing something similar again this week, only at Gordon Biersch this time. And with that in mind, how many would be interested in coming out? So far Anne said that her and Man will probably come, and she wants to invite Sammy as well. Emile said he will most likely come out as well. Anyone else?
Title: Re: Dinner Post by: MadDuck on April 06, 2010, 08:41:38 PM Me..... Maybe Gloria and the Dog...... But we have to sit outside..... (it'll depend on whether it's raining or not) ... I think me for sure... Maybe... But it can't be too early or too late. Not that I'm putting any conditions on anything. The food will be far better, I assure you.
Title: Re: Dinner Post by: DRKWNG on April 06, 2010, 08:44:09 PM Dude!! You and all your rules and conditions! Sounds like some of the leasing agents I have been talking to in DC. [cheeky]
But no, we are looking at meeting up there around six thirty to seven, so not too late at all. I'll most likely ride down weather allowing, so... Title: Re: Dinner Post by: MadDuck on April 06, 2010, 08:58:33 PM And speaking of which but on a slightly different subject.
I talked to Tristan today. He and Jen are heading back to a 5 to 6 week school on the east coast sometime around the 24th - 26th. That means, if I am doing my math correctly, that we have a two weekend window to have a bar-b-que, etc. etc, where we can get somewhat of a group together. So, I vote to get this somewhat organized before it's too late and we're sitting around a beer saying "yeah, we should of." And this includes you too Teddy & Ranilo 'cause after this the DML/DMF group will never be really the same ever again. It's not like it was the ultimate best in clubs but good times were had with good folks and that is increasingly rare these days. Just my two cents. [wine] Title: Re: Dinner Post by: DRKWNG on April 06, 2010, 09:12:34 PM Ok, so where do you suggest we do this?
Title: Re: Dinner Post by: teddy037.2 on April 07, 2010, 06:07:26 AM who ever said we were a club? clubs have rules.
thursday, I doubt I can make... weekendy things should be doable Title: Re: Dinner Post by: MadDuck on April 07, 2010, 06:25:19 AM who ever said we were a club? clubs have rules. Pardon. I was using the term extremely loosely and I stand corrected. "Occasional gathering of folks with fleeting, mutual Ducati interest" is too long so I just shortened it. Title: Re: Dinner Post by: eltristo on April 08, 2010, 05:18:54 PM Tristo was totally in on Thursday night until Thursday rolled around. Work is grand, grand thingy.
He will, however, make any BBQ festivities. If we need a host, I'm able. If we already have a place, I'll bring some goodies. Either way, good times are around the bend [thumbsup] Title: Re: Dinner Post by: DRKWNG on April 09, 2010, 04:43:30 PM Good time again last night guys. Anyone on for next week?
Title: Re: Dinner Post by: zzilla on April 10, 2010, 11:41:16 AM Down. I'll bring the wife this time too
Title: Re: Dinner Post by: Xerxes1769 on April 10, 2010, 08:34:23 PM IF everyone is invited then I'm down...but nowadays I don't own a Duc....So if this poor pauper is allowed to attend then I can go.....
Title: Re: Dinner Post by: DRKWNG on April 11, 2010, 06:25:46 AM Of course you're invited. This isn't a Ducati thing, more an attempt to get the local guys out and doing something that isn't entirely motorcycle related. And because I slipped up and did not make it clear earlier, significant others are more than welcome. Just please let me know how many people will be coming so I can make the appropriate reservations.
Title: Re: Dinner Post by: sta on April 12, 2010, 02:45:02 PM Good time again last night guys. Anyone on for next week? Can't make it this week. IRS is calling me to pay. Title: Re: Dinner Post by: eltristo on April 14, 2010, 05:53:27 AM As usual, I'll be there......man I need to get a life :'( Ben is your life, and the two of you will be much happier when you finally admit that. ;D Title: Re: Dinner Post by: MadDuck on April 14, 2010, 06:32:47 AM What about a little get together Bar-b-Que on Saturday night? Sort of a going away thing for Ben? I can have it at the shop. BYOB. That sort of thing. We have a grill here. And parking. We also have a big screen so we can watch DVD's. (Sorry no digital recorder on this thing yet). Let me know soon so we can loosely organize it.
Title: Re: Dinner Post by: DRKWNG on April 14, 2010, 08:38:17 AM Ben is your life, and the two of you will be much happier when you finally admit that. ;D Easy there killer. You're the one that said something about a desire to be on the receiving end of his hand-cuffs. Trey said that he and the Mrs will probably make it, and there is a chance that Mr and Mrs Jeebus will make it out as well. Anyone else think they can swing it?

Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: zzilla on April 20, 2010, 08:46:15 AM Gotta consult my "financial advisor" If I do show, I'm going to bring one of my intelligent work associates. I think he'd enjoy the discussions that get started when Emil wants to stop talking about bikes.

Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: MadDuck on April 22, 2010, 06:36:44 AM Can't go tonight. Not only do I need to get out on the Seven after work I also need to conserve a bit of cash. Spent outside of the budget last week and possibly more unplanned expenditures coming soon. Money and me naturally repel each other. [laugh]
Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: DRKWNG on April 22, 2010, 06:46:07 AM Money and me naturally repel each other. [laugh] That is an affliction that we both share my friend. Let me know if you want to swing by anyhow, I'm sure I owe you a beer or three for something-or-other. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: MadDuck on April 23, 2010, 06:19:15 AM That cheeseburger was too big, or something. Just got off the phone with BWW. Turns out they don't take reservations, so I will probably go down a little early to try and make sure we can get a table. Right now it looks like Mike will be there, Anne & Brian, Trey & Mrs. Trey, Jacob and Barry as well as myself. Anyone else? Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: Xerxes1769 on April 29, 2010, 04:45:07 PM Does BWW have their own parking stalls or do I have to park somewhere else?
Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: whackie on April 29, 2010, 05:05:06 PM Does BWW have their own parking stalls or do I have to park somewhere else? i called earlier. they have parking that they validate for. it's behind the building, if u make the left hand turn on hobron (between McD and ABC store) it's back there. Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: DRKWNG on May 03, 2010, 06:09:14 PM Ok, going to move this week's dinner back to Gordon Biersch. Better parking there and it's possible to make reservations.

Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: Brutale on May 12, 2010, 10:58:29 PM No can. Doing the Tantalus issue all week with folks from our HQ.
Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: MadDuck on May 13, 2010, 06:45:52 AM My neighbors son and his friends play with airsoft replicas. The pistols are bad enough but one of them had an M4 version that was unreal (or too real) in it's looks and heft. Plus the thing would shoot across a field and cut coke cans in half at 10 yards. Where do you draw the line between toys and the real thing? I like weapons but they are serious business and this replica stuff diffuses that into a fantasy that I don't think is wise or healthy.
Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: DRKWNG on May 13, 2010, 07:05:24 AM No can. Doing the Tantalus issue all week with folks from our HQ. Dood!! Tell your coworkers to clean up their own mess would ya? My neighbors son and his friends play with airsoft replicas. The scariest thing about Airsoft is the fact that a good majority of their most avid customers are the folks who wish like hell they could be little commandos too, but have been deemed (let's say) unfit by the Man to own the real deal. Case in point, this guy that Laughn is having to clean up after had been going around impersonating LEOs for a while, brandishing his "toy" as a real weapon. Just for kicks, go take a look at any of the airsoft forums and check out some of the things people post up on there. Title: Re: Thursday Night Dinner Night Post by: DRKWNG on May 13, 2010, 04:36:44 PM Once again, dinner is on tonight at Gordon Biersch. Show up after 6:45, just not too much after... [thumbsup]

Police said a 40-year-old man called about 2 a.m. to report seeing a man acting suspiciously and possibly breaking into cars. Officers arrived at the scene to find a man lying on the front passenger seat of a car belonging to a 36-year-old woman, police said. The car owner was contacted and told police she did not give the man permission to take the car, enter it or damage it. The man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and two weapons violations in connection with an airsoft pistol police reported finding on him.
