It was a gorgeous day up in the northern CA hills and I came across the black twin to my pearl RS. Met the owner and he's also on DMF I believe, but sorry I forgot to ask you for your forum name, "Bill". (It was a pleasure to meet you [thumbsup])
Here are some shots from my mobile. The thing that stands out is that we both have the Termi shorty pipe. The black one has the Quat-D midpipe + DP ECU while mine is still slipped onto the udder with DP ECU + PC3. And for those of you who are wondering how the Shorty + midpipe sounds compared to the udder, it sounds SWEET!! I'm defintely getting one now that I've heard it in person. And cosmetically, the whole combo looks way better in person than from photographs (especially one taken from a mobile). The craftsmanship on the Quat-D midpipe looks very well made. I'm definitely going to put an order for one, even though it's going to cost me the $300 or so PLUS another $300 for the custom map again [bang]. But just from hearing the difference in sound (louder and throatier), and obvious weight savings, it's worth it to me.

Very nice, the both of 'em.
Were you up around route 128? If so, I probably saw you. It was a Ducati-fest (Monster and otherwise) out there today.

No, this was at La Honda/Woodside by "Alice's", where 84 and 35 intersect.
Love the S4Rss .....but the white pearl still gives me a "woody" so to speak. I had black Porsches and BMWs but for the S4Rs it must be WHITE !
man i love the look of that shorty but the udder is killing me....
going to make a pipe choice for my new s4rs soon,
how does that termi shorty mount up to the quat d midpipe...?
is it a clean install?
Both bikes are beauts! [thumbsup]
Would love to see a post of the power curves for the Shorty DP/PCM ecu when you recal.

I too love the Pearl which is why I bought one!
Only thing I hated was the white wheels - Pearl bike/white wheels, don't match! So I painted my wheels black - Much better AND I don't have to clean them every day!
Very interesting. Sweet bikes.
Yes,,, I would like to hear more on this Mid Pipe/Termi Shortie combo. I have the Shortie on my Udder(CAT removed) & the only knock I have againest this is "THE SOUND" Doesnt sound near as good as my Zards, or the full Termi's I am sure.
Some Dyno #s would be nice to see as well.
Who has that black bike? I like the blinks in the front. What kind are those? If anyone can help me, that'd be much appreciated.

Those look identical to mine. I got mine off Ebay.

I'm the owner of the Black S4RS "Aquila Nera" that was at 35/84 last Sunday. It was good to meet you too S4RSSS. Your bike is awesome. I really like the CycleCat clip-ons, tail chop, signals, bad-ass pearlescent white paint, etc. Somebody asked about the front turn signals; they are DP LED front and rear. I also have the Heavy Cycles (Petaluma, CA) LED tail light assembly. It's very bright. I have the DP ECU along with the Quat-D mid-pipe connected to the DP Termi shortie. I working on a way to make the CF blend into the mid-pipe assembly; since the shortie was designed to match the "udder". This mod drops some significant weight from the underside of the bike as well. Looking forward
to seeing more Monsters up at the "crossroads" soon! [thumbsup]
Black Eagle,,, glad your on board. Be prepared to be bombarded with exhaust questions. Probably from me ;D
Would U have any close up Pics of that set-up U have ? A Pic of the connection would be nice. Plus. Post a Pic of that baby on the Bikes of DMF thread.
Cheers

Welcome Black Eagle and Aquila Nera. [beer]
welcome black eagle.....
PLEASE post some detailed pics of the shorty/ midpipe junction...!!!!
im going to make a pipe choice very soon as im nearing my break-in period
and am either going full arrow, full termi, or that setup you have....
would love to see how clean it is....?
thanks and welcome.:)
Sweet bikes, I too would love to see some detail shots of that mid-pipe set up.
it looks f-n awesome!
Where can these exhausts be purchased?
that bike in either color is beautiful. if looking at both on the showroom floor, & having to make a final choice would be difficult. money is not a problem......so .....both. [coffee]

blackeagle, thanks for the pics....
im familiar with the midpipe,
what im interested in looking at is the actual union of the quat-d and the termi shorty...
how obnoxious does it look in person without a shroud or cover....
you said you were looking into carbon, etc, to cover that joint,
id like to see what it looks like now....
thank you again for what you HAVE posted....
nice bike man....
I got a pearl too.....mines got the DP kit, set to loud [evil]
Lazarus7,
The "other" DML had links to photos of the Termi Shortie. Search on "Termi Shorty" or "Termi Shortie" if you wish. As I said previously, the CF housing is
cut to conform to the "udder"; as a result when you connect to a mid-pipe and
eliminate the udder, then the housing has a slightly curved opening facing down and forward. This means the housing <will> catch some air turbulence when you
are at speed. I can still reach warp speed 9, no problem. Also, this is not necessarily a bad thing since I noticed the CF starting to "cook" a little. I solved that problem by lining the upper and lower inside of the CF housing with some adhesive-backed heat reflecting tape. Worked perfectly. The short exhaust portion slides right onto the mid-pipe connection. Good weld alignments. The
short exhaust <without> the housing is IMHO indeed fugly, but then beauty is in the eye of the beholder....maybe someone else will think it's "industrial".....
