Title: Re: Anybody free this weekend? Post by: Cloner on April 09, 2010, 06:41:30 AM I'll be at the house Saturday evening working on Project Aermacchi. Swing by and I'll gladly help you set her up. PM sent with contact info. I'm out on your side of town in the Ventana Ranch area.
Have you looked at the weekend ride section? We're meeting at PJ's around 10 Saturday morning for a quick ride. Cloner ABQ, NM Title: Re: Anybody free this weekend? Cloner I got your PM. I think I meet up with you guys at PJ's. When you planning on working on the Aermacchi? After the ride? I got a coilover wrench tool for the lock rings. Should i bring them? Nick Title: Re: Anybody free this weekend? Post by: Cloner on April 09, 2010, 11:33:27 AM Just throw the wrench in your tool kit. I probably have one that will fit, but just in case.......
I figure to work on the Aermacchi after the ride, so if you wanna follow me home we can do it then. Heck, we might even be able to do it at PJs. Bring your tool and a tape measure and we can do it in any parking lot. It's actually better to have a third party present, anyway! That way I can measure, you can be in your natural riding position, and someone can hold the bike up. Piece of cake! Do we need to do the forks, too? If so, make sure you have a wrench to fit the fork preload adjusters in your kit, too. See you in the morning. Title: Re: Anybody free this weekend? Post by: NFJ79 on April 09, 2010, 11:47:04 AM Awesome! The more help the better. I'm still a noob on motorcycles.
My front forks are non-adjustable. :'( Title: Re: Anybody free this weekend? Post by: Scottish on April 09, 2010, 11:52:46 AM My Monster handled considerable better after cranking up the preload out back and then I dropped the forks through the triples till they almost touched the bottom of the bars. Getting the nose down and the rear up makes turn-in a lot better. However it does make it switchier at speed. No snoozing.

Title: Re: Anybody free this weekend? Post by: NFJ79 on April 11, 2010, 01:50:17 PM Yes! Much better! It's like night and day now. Turn in's feel so much better. Thanks everyone for the help.
