Title: Virgin SBK's Post by: ZOSO on April 12, 2010, 08:06:05 AM OMG.
I'm a Ducati rider in Chicago and just saw the following incredible Ducati SBK's for sale on my local Ducati board (I have never seen such a collection of zero mile, never started bikes outside of a museum): http://www.drill-online.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3038 (http://www.drill-online.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3038) Seriously, a 2005 999R, ZERO miles, $10,275.00!! Never started 748's and Senna's!! I am in no way affiliated with the seller or the local Chicago rider who posted but simply could not believe these bikes actually existed somewhere with no miles/never started. Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: jim_0068 on April 12, 2010, 08:12:40 AM oh boy, haven't their been stories about some 999r in texas before? Or am i thinking of something else?
Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: pennyrobber on April 12, 2010, 08:15:22 AM Do you have to wire the $10,000 to Nigeria before they send you the bike?
Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: Raux on April 12, 2010, 10:40:49 AM These could be the sell off from KC International. Heard they are closing up their Ducati dealership. The owner knew a good bike when he saw one. even had an Aprilia RS250 with a street kit. and did you notice the Pierobon sticker on the frame of the first one!
Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: Vindingo on April 12, 2010, 02:33:20 PM 999r for 10K and a 748 with silver paint for 15K [roll] I doubt there is really that much of a collectors markert for a "Neiman Marcus" edition bike.
Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: muskrat on April 12, 2010, 07:53:51 PM does anyone have contact info on this guy? I'm going to San Antonio in the next couple of weeks. If I see what I like I'm taking the 999r
Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: Raux on April 13, 2010, 03:24:27 AM IF these are his bikes.

If anyone has his (or can get his) contact info, please PM me. Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: lawbreaker on April 13, 2010, 04:03:51 AM The 996RS is the only bike REALLY worth the dough in that group.......
Seriously Bad-Ass and the only one in that group thats truly a worthy collector...... And would be wicked on the track [thumbsup] Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: mitt on April 13, 2010, 05:14:11 AM Nice bikes!

Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: Popeye the Sailor on April 13, 2010, 07:14:27 AM Meh-I think the purchase of bikes that are never used is more abusive than what I do to my rides.
Seriously-why even have a motor in 'em if you don't use 'em? Just an epic waste. Yeah it's their money, but I'll never get it. Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: Raux on April 13, 2010, 07:44:10 AM yep, KC Int. logo... that i designed ;)
just talked to him. the bikes are not his, but he knows the guy. he's looking for contact info for me. Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: DoubleEagle on April 14, 2010, 07:34:58 PM If there is truth in what the poster speaks me thinks the r is a nice little gem.
I know where there is one but it has been tracked and the price is still in the $10k range. I love my 1098-R so I needent have an affair w, another r bike plus I still have the RR BMW to figure out. 3 bikes is enough to occupy my time. Nice to look at though. Dolph [evil] Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: muskrat on April 14, 2010, 07:39:05 PM I think they should be cheaper because of the abuse of non-use.
I'm still wondering how KC stayed in business though. Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: Porsche Monkey on April 15, 2010, 03:17:12 AM The gentleman that owns these bikes is a client of mine. I'm sure I could arrange something for those interested. I have been offered the 999r but don't have that sort of cash lying around without selling other toys. If y'all are interested pm me.

Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: Porsche Monkey on April 15, 2010, 05:29:07 AM I sent him an email this morning and am waiting for the reply. As soon as I hear from him I'll let you know. When will you be in town? I wouldnt mind showing you around the hill country.
Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: muskrat on April 15, 2010, 05:54:21 PM we are working a mid-week trip to avoid the fair weather riders as well as the weekend deer. I will work on the scheduling with my friend when I return to town on Friday night.
Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: Porsche Monkey on April 16, 2010, 02:44:00 AM The 999r is sold.

Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: DRKWNG on April 16, 2010, 02:37:08 PM You snooze, you lose. ;D I'm glad for it. As much as I would have killed for that bike, now is simply not the time. Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: lawbreaker on April 18, 2010, 05:50:10 AM I'm kinda surprized that so few people expressed interest/desire for the Race bike in that group and were excited over the 999R....
Although im biased to the Tamburini design ( and the fact that the 996RS is a faster machine), it's nice to see that Pierre Terblanche's design is finally growing on people) BTW, What is the owner asking for the 996RS? Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: Porsche Monkey on April 18, 2010, 06:06:49 AM I will find out for you.
Title: Re: Virgin SBK's Post by: Porsche Monkey on April 19, 2010, 02:03:00 PM Okay, on the 996. It is a 1999 World Superbike built for the factory race team. As a racebike it has no title. He would like to get 30k for it. I will post an ad in the classifieds for those that may be interested.
