Title: Virgin SBK's
Post by: ZOSO on April 12, 2010, 08:06:05 AM
OMG.
I'm a Ducati rider in Chicago and just saw the following incredible Ducati SBK's for sale on my local Ducati board (I have never seen such a collection of zero mile, never started bikes outside of a museum):

http://www.drill-online.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3038 (http://www.drill-online.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3038)

Seriously, a 2005 999R, ZERO miles, $10,275.00!!
Never started 748's and Senna's!!
I am in no way affiliated with the seller or the local Chicago rider who posted but simply could not believe these bikes actually existed somewhere with no miles/never started.

Do you have to wire the $10,000 to Nigeria before they send you the bike?

These could be the sell off from KC International. Heard they are closing up their Ducati dealership. The owner knew a good bike when he saw one. even had an Aprilia RS250 with a street kit. and did you notice the Pierobon sticker on the frame of the first one!

999r for 10K and a 748 with silver paint for 15K  [roll]  I doubt there is really that much of a collectors markert for a "Neiman Marcus" edition bike.

does anyone have contact info on this guy?  I'm going to San Antonio in the next couple of weeks.  If I see what I like I'm taking the 999r

The 999R has a KC International sticker on the fairing.  It also makes my pants feel oddly tight.

Meh-I think the purchase of bikes that are never used is more abusive than what I do to my rides.

Seriously-why even have a motor in 'em if you don't use 'em? Just an epic waste.

Yeah it's their money, but I'll never get it.

If there is truth in what the poster speaks me thinks the r is a nice little gem.

I know where there is one but it has been tracked and the price is still in the $10k range.

I love my 1098-R so I needent have an affair w, another r bike plus I still have the RR BMW to figure out.

3 bikes is enough to occupy my time.

Nice to look at though.

I think they should be cheaper because of the abuse of non-use.
I'm still wondering how KC stayed in business though.

The gentleman that owns these bikes is a client of mine.  I'm sure I could arrange something for those interested.  I have been offered the 999r but don't have that sort of cash lying around without selling other toys.  If y'all are interested pm me.

we are working a mid-week trip to avoid the fair weather riders as well as the weekend deer.  I will work on the scheduling with my friend when I return to town on Friday night.

I'm glad for it.  As much as I would have killed for that bike, now is simply not the time.

I'm kinda surprized that so few people expressed interest/desire for the Race bike in that group and were excited over the 999R....

Although im biased to the Tamburini design ( and the fact that the 996RS is a faster machine), it's nice to see that Pierre Terblanche's design is finally growing on people)

BTW, What is the owner asking for the 996RS?

I will find out for you.

Okay, on the 996.  It is a 1999 World Superbike built for the factory race team. As a racebike it has no title. He would like to get 30k for it.  I will post an ad in the classifieds for those that may be interested.
