Title: How do I get the clutch hub out?
Post by: ducducgooseme on April 13, 2010, 09:00:59 AM
I am helping a friend replace a 12t STM with a 48.  Got the primary nut off, the center hub too.  However, I can't for the life of me get the hub piece with the 6 spindles that the springs screw into, off.  I used liquid wrench on it, rubber mallet...nothing makes it budge from the shaft.

dont know what to tell you except pull harder. theres nothing holding the hub in except that big bolt. it should lift right out.

If all else fails, start tapping it with a hard hammer. the vibration sometimes frees up gunk that is holding it.

GOT IT!!  Heated the mofo with a heat gun for 10 minutes and then rescrewed the pressure plate and pulled!

New 48 tooth slipper installed and it runs like a dream   [thumbsup]
