Title: **NEW PICS**Poor baby monster... you will be strong again...**NEW PICS** Post by: KrakHor9 on April 14, 2010, 12:29:12 PM So I went on a ride with my buddy and his SV650... and we stop for a cup of coffee at this Dunkin Donuts.
Street parking with our two bikes back into the curb in one spot... up front... only one spot closer.. Handicapped. All the time people park in the handicapped spot and run in illegally to get a cup. This time I was talking to my friend not paying attention and here comes a Dodge pickup to back in the spot, BUT he KEPT GOING! And knocks my bike down to the ground. :( For whatever reason he did not want to go through insurance and said he would take care of it. (he is a spine surgeon) So I was left with a broken CRG mirror, scratched up Termignoni Pipe, very small dent in the tank, bent kickstand, and a broken blinker. We exchanged information and left.... managed to ride it home okay... (yes i should of called the popo [leo]) I got an estimate more than the bike books for mostly because they would replace the tank. I faxed it over to the guy and yes he really did cut me a check! BUT made out to the dealer.. I would liked to of gotten the new 1100 but did not want to fork out the difference in my bike + the check. So the baby 620 that is 7 years old will have a new tank, hopefully boomtubes, and everything else fixed... (took care of the kickstand on here already) Pics to follow in a month or two when the bike has all its parts in... at least I can still ride as it is now.... Title: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again... Post by: somegirl on April 14, 2010, 01:34:17 PM Bummer! Glad to hear the guy covered the expenses. Sadly that's not so typical.

After hearing what HeMan had to go thru, this is a walk in the park. Glad things are working out for youTitle: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again... Post by: NoisyDante on April 14, 2010, 02:32:19 PM Glad to hear he at least dealt with it honorably. I had a similar situation though no damage was done to the bike, just multiple apologies and many offers to pay for damages.

Glad things are working out for you Yes as long as the check was okay with the dealer.... Most likely though. You used to have my bike, LOL. Yellow is the fastest color.... Title: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again... Post by: Desmo Demon on April 15, 2010, 02:54:20 AM You can use this to your advantage......the check may be made out to the dealer, but it does not specifically mean that the check can only be used for the repairs that need to be done to the bike.
You can opt to stick the OEM levers on the bike, get someone to repair and repaint the tank, then use the check for anything you want from the dealership (service, mods, down payment on another bike). If I were you, I'd look for the kickstand and other small stuff on eBay, get the tank repaired and painted, and use the guy's check for a new exhaust, some tires (even if you just put them in your closet until you need them), or see if they have a good deal on a used bike and buy a second bike. You have a lot of opportunities available to you. Title: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again... Post by: corey on April 15, 2010, 03:32:32 AM kudos to this guy for stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility for his actions, even though there were sincerely accidental. people like that are few and far between... but then again, so are spine surgeons... lol
Title: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again... Post by: KrakHor9 on April 23, 2010, 02:11:22 PM the check CLEARED! [drink]
Now I just have to wait for my row boat to make it over from Italy with the parts.... Two to Three weeks! At least I have the bike at the point where I can ride it.... :) Title: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again... Post by: KrakHor9 on April 23, 2010, 02:39:37 PM so fill us in. did you have the dealership repair the damaged parts? buy better, cooler parts? tires? exhaust? ducati strippers? Well the money needed to be spent at the dealer because the check was made out to them...And to get a new bike is more money than I wanted to put out... so the new kickstand is on I found on this site. The dealer is getting me: -crg mirror -new tank -clutch lever -turn signal -boomtubes!!!! And any extra money... hopefully.... new boots, battery, or towards my next service.... My tires are pretty new... Title: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again... Post by: djrashonal on April 23, 2010, 02:52:50 PM awesome! sucks that you bike got hit, but it's turned into a positive experience [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again... Post by: KrakHor9 on April 30, 2010, 10:28:11 AM All my parts came in except my exhaust...
AND the new tank has a DENT! Back to waiting... [bang] Title: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again... Post by: He Man on April 30, 2010, 11:17:48 AM even if it was made out to them, doesnt mean its not your money. its just credit that they are holding for you. Spend what you want. Your not required to repair the bike with that money.
but even then. go at it if you want. [evil] Now i want some pics when its all done! Title: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again... Post by: jim_0068 on April 30, 2010, 12:24:05 PM no offense but i would have requested the check be re-made out to me or else you would file a police report. learn for next time

Post by: KrakHor9 on April 30, 2010, 04:56:25 PM no offense but i would have requested the check be re-made out to me or else you would file a police report. learn for next time None taken. The whole thing was just f=ed up from the start and I was just happy to get money to pay for the wrong that was done. The guy manned up. AND I was looking at the boomtubes before all of this happened and emailed about them... and I will most likely end up with them now :) So.... the bike will be even better now... Can't argue with that... :) Title: Re: Poor baby monster... you will be strong again...
