I can appreciate the skill it took to make it work, but in the end I still have to ask, "Why?"
Title: Re: il mostro enduro Post by: Monsterlover on April 15, 2010, 03:00:40 AM Why not?
Title: Re: il mostro enduro Post by: mikeb on April 15, 2010, 03:15:28 AM Why not? When I ask 'why' I'm looking for the builder's reasoning. I don't see a reason, but maybe he does. So I'm merely curious. From my standpoint. It looks like a fun exercise in modding. A goof. But if I was looking for a decent dual sport I'd buy a purpose built one and spare a really nice Monster. Title: Re: il mostro enduro Post by: Monsterlover on April 15, 2010, 03:37:20 AM Oh I hear you.
You can just go buy a KLR or a DRZ or a vstrom and then just ride it, and not have to engineer it. + tons of aftermarket support Title: Re: il mostro enduro Post by: Slide Panda on April 15, 2010, 03:56:48 AM Gah... that was a 2000 900s. Not so many of those running about
Title: Re: il mostro enduro Post by: mikeb on April 15, 2010, 04:34:59 AM and not have to engineer it. I think the engineering of it is the best aspect of the build. Which is cool. Get to flex the old brain-power, break out the tools, and see what happens. Title: Re: il mostro enduro Post by: Speeddog on April 15, 2010, 04:48:25 AM I can dig it. [thumbsup]

Get to flex the old brain-power, break out the tools, and see what happens. I like doing that too, but sometimes its better to buy. Did I really just type that?! Title: Re: il mostro enduro Post by: KnightofNi on April 15, 2010, 05:05:08 AM i would love to have an off road capable monster.
i have drooled over these since i first saw them a few years ago. in fact there is a shot somewhere of a guy on a monster riding a motocross track on a monster with knobbies. [thumbsup] Title: Re: il mostro enduro Post by: RetroSBK on April 15, 2010, 05:06:14 AM They also built one based on a S4RS Monster... A client bought it, and then brought it to me for 40 plus hours of rework...
The good news is that we will be racing it in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb this year, The bad new is that its still a pile of shit.. You would have to see it up close to understand the total LACK of engineering that went into it... BEST example - when it came it, the oil cooler was mounted on a small bracket... Ready for this - - - On TOP of the front fender. It turned with the bars. With braided steel lines on it. Hopefully it doesn't break in half from the stress at the Peak this year.. we will see Title: Re: il mostro enduro Post by: Monsterlover on April 15, 2010, 05:10:11 AM You have to be kidding
