Hi, 2001 M600 Dark,
So i'm pretty sure my valves are out of adjustment because they are making a lot of noise. I have the bike with me here at college so I won't be able to work on it till I bring it home in three weeks. Do you guys think it will be a problem if I keep riding it till then? In that time I will probably put on about 200 miles. Also, when I downshift/engine brake it pops like it is running lean. It is not excessive though, and the carbs are clean. Could this be caused by the valves being out of spec?
Next, I have the Dark model which means 5 speed tranny. Is it the exact same tranny as the six speed less one gear or are the ratios different? Just curious

not a big deal if you ride a few hundred miles with out of spec valves that probably arent that out of spec anyway.
However they are loud in nature so being out of spec doenst make it that much more noticeable if at all.
