Title: Mods/Exhaust for S2R1K Post by: garp2112 on April 16, 2010, 08:44:52 AM OK, it's official. I am totally obsessed with my Duc and have bitten hard with the Mod Bug. [bang]
I got her with 1100miles in late January of this year and have already doubled the miles! Not bad for the cold Northeast... I have added sliders and mirrors to date and have begun an exhaust change. I have picked up a pair of Roads Italia slip ons and a header to get rid of my bikes udder. The slips ons greeted me at home after work yesterday! Needles to say, they have been slipped-on... I went for a quick blast and loved the difference in sound. Unfortunately, the header is still due and I ran out of time to finish the slip ons to my satisfaction. Will keep you posted and add pictures as time permits... You will love the S2R1k. I cant get enough of mine. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Mods/Exhaust for S2R1K Post by: garp2112 on April 16, 2010, 02:00:56 PM OK, some pictures with the slip-ons. Was not crazy about the mounting bracket/support design. The fitted too loose out of the box and had to tweak it in order to fit better. None the less, sounds great!
On a downer, the weather sucks and will be busy next couple of days with no time to ride or mod >:( Hopefully the header comes in while I am away (http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4012/4526489813_af67c95e08.jpg) (http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4061/4526489817_4001ecbcda.jpg) Title: Re: Mods/Exhaust for S2R1K Post by: The Bearded Duc on April 16, 2010, 03:31:57 PM Great looking bike. And if the 2112 in you screen name is a Rush reference it just became infinitely cooler! ;) [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Mods/Exhaust for S2R1K Post by: COP TZR on April 16, 2010, 05:32:49 PM looks good. Would probably look even better with a tail chop

Would probably look even better with a tail chop Thanks for the reminder on the tail chop ;D It is definitely on the list to do. It will probably come after the header gets installed. I certainly am open to any suggestions on "How To" and what tail I should use as a replacement. Do a search, you'll see a bunch. If your handy you can fab up your own plate/light mount, hacksaw the subframe just infront of the seat lock, paint & cap your ends and done! Another mod to fancy up that right side, especially if you love the noise as much as everyone else here does, its to open up that clutch!! Had the slip-ons installed and took for a spin. As mentioned earlier, I was not crazy about how they mounted. They were close to the stock rear directional. Apparently too close because the right side directional began to melt from the exhaust. Doop. [bang] I was planning for a tail chop but the melted directional precipitated a quicker than expected modification... Of course I could not just chopped the tail and leave the back completely open. I had to get a rear hugger to protect the suspension. In the meantime, my Marving header came in. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the bike got dropped while stationary. Thank God for sliders and bar-end mirrors having been folded in. The only things broken was my ego and the clutch lever. Anyway, money was a little tight for the nice CRG or Pazzo levers and ended up with some very reasonable hones for the time being from Jeff at Monsterparts. I had the pleasure of working on everything last night and the night before. I am happy to state all is installed! To recap: - Roads Italia Slip-On Exhausts from Roadsitalia (http://www.roadsitalia.com/english/index.php?model_id=135&prod_id=249&submit=&cat_id=45&page=products (http://www.roadsitalia.com/english/index.php?model_id=135&prod_id=249&submit=&cat_id=45&page=products)) - From Jeff at Monsterparts.com: Marving Header, Rear tail lights, CF Hugger and clutch/brake levers - Competition Werkes Tailchop for S2R A lot more than I was planing for but I guess that is how things go. Hopefully I can be satisfied for a little while before the next wave of Mods... I will post some pic's and a sound clip this weekend. Now its time to ride! Title: Re: Mods/Exhaust for S2R1K Post by: Mike_D on April 29, 2010, 11:36:12 AM looks good. Would probably look even better with a tail chop . . .and a front fork reflectorectomy ;D Title: Re: Mods/Exhaust for S2R1K Post by: garp2112 on May 08, 2010, 03:20:51 AM Ok, below are some pic's of the progress. Next step will likely be to get a DP ECU with a performance Air Filter.

A little popping when the weather is warming... |
