Title: Ti rotor bolt kits -- wth? Post by: ducatiz on April 17, 2010, 04:16:13 AM Some are $10-20 each (Lighttech)
Some are sets of 6 for $30 (hyperbolts) someone 'splain this economy to me? Title: Re: Ti rotor bolt kits -- wth? Post by: erichan8757 on April 17, 2010, 04:34:12 AM what i would comment on is , you pay what you get, I just started to have this bad habit of
obtaining Ti bolts for most of the spots on the bike and there are some from a better brand like TPO and there are some from the lesser renowned place. and soon as you get the products, you'd be like man this fu**ing company really refine Ti bolts. they are more polished and refined on each angles. and they just look different. well it's just my preference. but it may not always be true. e. Title: Re: Ti rotor bolt kits -- wth? Post by: He Man on April 17, 2010, 06:50:47 AM I guess its like buying Chinese Stainless steel vs American Stainless steel (the price difference is insane)
i dont get waht the hype on Ti Bolts are anyway.... My personal opinion, and a rude one at that. (not aiming at anyone) I tell msot people to not waste their money on Ti Bolts. Buy alot of beer instead. youll be happier at the end of the day Title: Re: Ti rotor bolt kits -- wth? Post by: ducatiz on April 17, 2010, 07:26:55 AM I am just poking around for mods on my bike. I picked up a '98 bike and the rotor bolts are rusty (along with some of the other bolts) and instead of de-rusting and coating them I'm going to just replace them.
I considered using stainless, but was curious about the Ti as well. besides, i can shave 0.0004% of the bike weight off.. :D Title: Re: Ti rotor bolt kits -- wth? Post by: Düb Lüv on April 17, 2010, 07:32:58 AM you could always buy aluminum. it's lighter than ti, and cheaper. don't get pissed when you messed up the hardware or break it when it seizes up. only happens when not lubed or in the elements. just break it loose ever so often and re torque.

I'm not going to normally replace a perfectly good bolt with Ti. Now if the bolt needs replacing, and the Ti is not too much more, sure. I did replace a bunch of bolts with SS, but I did get the kit on the cheap. Title: Re: Ti rotor bolt kits -- wth? Post by: He Man on April 17, 2010, 07:39:26 AM i think that number is about right. you might be missing some zeros.

( minimal) overall is pretty nice. the sales is polite and responsive. slow delivery however, 7-10 days, never got anything faster. maybe just because i live far from its location. Title: Re: Ti rotor bolt kits -- wth? Post by: hcomp on April 17, 2010, 06:31:43 PM Just a word to the wise..... Do not use aluminum bolts for rotor bolts....Not a good idea.. Title: Re: Ti rotor bolt kits -- wth? Post by: Howley on April 18, 2010, 02:07:21 AM I hate ali bolts full stop. They are so shitty and weak...
