Title: Windscreen question Post by: vigge79 on April 17, 2010, 08:06:42 AM I´ve started to ride my M695 darkness to work and have realised that a windscreen probably isn´t such a bad thing. However I´m super concerned about the looks of the bike getting trashed with a big ugly window in front. Noticed that MonsterParts have a wide range of alternatives. Anyone familiar with this one or anything similar?

Title: Re: Windscreen question Post by: Privateer on April 17, 2010, 01:51:01 PM there is a picture of one of those painted and installed floating around. looks pretty good actually. Not sure how well it does on deflecting wind however.
If you use a "normal" bikini fairing, it works much better with fairing stays. edit: sorry, wrong one: http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=20065.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=20065.0) Title: Re: Windscreen question Post by: RBX QB on April 18, 2010, 10:08:57 AM I have a smoked Dart Flyscreen from MonsterParts on my S2R... I notice that it does deflect a good amount of the wind away from my chest. I eventually backpainted it black. Couple that with a good aerodynamic lid, and I'm doing pretty good right now.
http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/DART/Windscreens/DART.html (http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/DART/Windscreens/DART.html) This is what it looked like before I backpainted it http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=802789&l=7af22685d5&id=565137977 (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=802789&l=7af22685d5&id=565137977). Shows how well it disappears into the bike profile. I chose looks.

Title: Re: Windscreen question Post by: JEFF_H on April 19, 2010, 01:02:30 PM the square aluminum one is bigger...almost the same size/shape as the Dart screen

Title: Re: Windscreen question Post by: vigge79 on April 19, 2010, 09:50:41 PM Looks good psycledelic! I'm not a big fan of CF so I guess I'll have to find a pro-painter to make it ducati dark. An off-topic question, how did you paint your headlight dark, rattlecan work straight onto the chrome?

An off-topic question, how did you paint your headlight dark, rattlecan work straight onto the chrome? Pretty much. I ruffed it up a little with some fine sandpaper. I used Krylon flat black. I put a couple of coats 24 hours apart. That was over a year ago and it still looks good.
