Title: Happiness Is... Post by: desmoquattro on April 17, 2010, 06:14:48 PM ...having a fiancee who tolerates three Ducatis and a Yamaha in the garage ;D
Oh...and happiness is also having 170hp, traction control, sticky Pirellis, and Ohlins to keep you on the road during the inevitable HIGH Speed CHP chase: (http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs386.snc3/23575_422243450210_521650210_5750198_1492216_n.jpg)(http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs434.snc3/24998_415625624223_589624223_5271154_7717630_n.jpg) This thing is an absolute beast. I rode her back from Monterey today...the first part of the journey I made sure to set the traction control to 7(of 8). The bike was fast, nimble, and just wanted to run at high speeds, but lugs a bit down low. No surprise there. But after visiting some of BikerGoddess' friends in Morgan Hill I set it to 4 and the front wheel started coming up at regular intervals. Can't wait to get this thing set up properly... Thanks! It's slightly used, with 1400 miles...wait, make that 1600 miles after riding it home yesterday and flogging it in Marin today. Title: Re: Happiness Is... Post by: ghostrider on April 18, 2010, 06:33:21 PM So all the benefits of new but without the cost. I like how you think brother. [drink]
Title: Re: Happiness Is... Post by: desmoquattro on April 18, 2010, 06:41:16 PM I said it before, but it bears repeating...make the beast with two backs this bike is fast. I rode it in Marin today...Lucas Valley, Nicasio, Pt Reyes Station, and south. Lots of cars, but the open road parts were incredible.
I had heard that the superbikes will roast your arse in traffic, and I got to experience that firsthand today coming home. But you take the good with the bad ;D Title: Re: Happiness Is... Post by: Le Piou on April 19, 2010, 06:47:03 AM 1198S? Woah... [bow_down]

He was acting like a kid on Christmas eve the night before we picked up the bike. I had to give him a tranquilizer just to get some sleep. [laugh] Title: Re: Happiness Is... Post by: hihhs on April 19, 2010, 08:31:29 AM ENVY...
I was longingly eyeballing the 1198 in Munroe Motors on Saturday. Congrats! Title: Re: Happiness Is... Post by: Juan on April 19, 2010, 11:18:01 AM Sweet ride [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Happiness Is... Post by: MendoDave on April 21, 2010, 09:40:44 AM The description of it being a beast makes me want to ride one for a couple of hours. Man oh man. I don't need one of those. That would result in confiscation by the Police, hitting a deer or some other unpleasantness for me.

By beast, I mean a very refined, knife-edge beast that will hit the corners with style. Title: Re: Happiness Is... Title: Re: Happiness Is... Post by: desmoquattro on April 21, 2010, 01:55:08 PM I guess that means you can cut a deer in half then eh? Better...I can clean and fillet the damn thing in one fell swoop. It's my little roadkill gift to the rednecks of Marin County. Title: Re: Happiness Is... I can't get over how well Ducati did with that bike. It's all the good stuff with all the good stuff. It's like a ballerina that can bench 300 and outsprint olympians. [evil] Wait wait I can hear in the background the BeeGees singing "it's got-a stra-a-nge Ma-a-jic." Title: Re: Happiness Is...
