AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGG [bang] [bang] [bang]
I broke the lens on my 06 S2R Guage pod!! Son of a B&%$H !! Can I get just the lens portion of the pod? or does Ducati make you buy the whole thing? I guess I'll put a call into Bobby at Desmo Porsche and see what he can do. Any Ideas?
Won't any round piece of plastic suffice? Are the lenses removable with the gauge cover off?
I can't see how to get just the lens out, it's like it's bonded in there. I'll post some pics tonight
You should be able to MacGyver something that will work.
When I had my gauges apart, I was thinking about it...but it's been awhile...
Post pics, and maybe I'll remember...
You could just buy a used set on Ebay. They usually don't sell for much because they are pretty much useless on anything but the original bike without the ECU and keys.
If you can find one you can remove your internals and swap them over to the new pod. Just a thought. Trust me, you won't like how much they cost at the dealer. [bang]
if I'm not mistaken they have a film on the underside that helps prevent it from fogging up as well. be careful when switching them out if you land an older one. I've done this exercise on several bikes and somehow my damm finger print gets in there.
you can have mine if youd like.. I took my gauges apart and dont plan on using them.. let me know [thumbsup]

YOU ARE A GOD! [bow_down] I definately want them. please PM me your paypal address and I'll send you some cash for shipping and your troubles or I also have an airbox with new K&N I'd be happy to send you if you could use it.
I also realized last night that I tore the thin piece underneath the lens that has the numbers on it. I'm probably pushing it, but do you have that too? If not, no worries. I'd be happy to have the case or top piece only.
So heres the whole story...... My gauges are flush mounted into the top of my tank. I'm currently wiring the bike so the tank is on and off a million times a day, so it's not bolted down. Well I knocked the tank off the bike, not hard enough to dent it, but it cracked the bondo.......in a true 7 year old style fit, I chucked a wrench whick knocked a brake caliper off the shelf and onto siad gauge pod. I felt like an idiot, it was like a Mr. Bean episode. [roll]
I had no idea you could replace the lens in the gauge, that's awesome. I'll have to find a replacement lens myself as my left one came broken from the dealer(used) and I've just been living with it.
MAXdb is officially the coolest dude on the board!!! Sent me the parts I needed to fix the guage gratis [clap], and saved me countless hours and dollars trying to fix a custom setup [bow_down] [bow_down] thanks so much!
Kind of related - Does anyone know a source for round lenses in different sizes? I have an old bike that needs new lenses, they are not broke, just can't see through them anymore.
Are they glass or plastic? Sometimes if you can remove them, they can be polished. Just a thought
Plastic. They have turned a cruddy yellow color. It is a 1975 ebay bike I'm trying to get on the road again. I'll try polishing them but they are really bad.

There is a product called novus they have a three stage kit for plastic and acrylic. A friend of mine restores jukeboxes and swears by the stuff. You can get pretty aggressive with the polish, especially if you plan to replace them anyway. You may be surprised. Good luck [thumbsup]
Sorry for off topic - but Monsters might have this problem too in 35 years. I think this turned out pretty well.
