That's a great move by Ducati - my favorite is the Corse kit.
Very nice.  8)

That sure as heck figures.......1 month after I buy mine they come out with this......... [bang]

wow that is very cool! I wish it was that easy to change the look of the older monsters too

I've got an 1100S on order... put a small down payment on it on Wednesday last week.... I sure as hell hope I can talk them into doing this deal for me.  If so, here's a photoshop mock up of all the mods I'm going to do plus the new Darmah Skins!!!

I haven't read any fine print on the promotion or seen anything other than this ad, but if the skins are free, I'd expect to wind up with two sets of bodywork for the bike, and if not, they need to be more clear about it. I bet a lot of dealerships will make it a point to keep the original stuff and sell it at a premium if the owner "forgets" to ask for them back. You know most people will have the dealer install the custom bodywork and will probably not even think that they should get the originals back.
I wouldn't be too surprised to start seeing cheap 1100 bodywork showing up on eBay during and after this promotion.

Yeah I'm wondering the same thing!  I'm getting the White/Black 1100S because my wife wants the white body panels on (now) her 696... was just going to swap the panels and go all black... but it would be awesome to get this as an additional set!
EDIT:  The promotion they've been doing with the superbikes is a mail-in thing.  The dealer registers the purchase with Ducati and they send you the chairs/tent/warmers/watch.  I'm hoping that this is the same kind of deal... with a name like "Second Skin Promotion" it'd be stupid to only get one in the end hehe.

someone buy a silver 1100 and sell me the seat cover!

Will these fit on a 696 as well?  I wouldn't mind buying one or two of those designs for my bike.  I've seen the normal color options but I didn't like them.  These designs look really cool.

Bikes purchased will come with the color on the bike at time of sale and your secondary color choice will be shipped from Ducati once new bike is registered.  You get both sets.
Yes they fit perfectly on a 696!!

That's a really cool promo.   [thumbsup]

I just found out that each kit costs $600.00.  :(  I didn't expect them to be that much.  Oh well, that's what my birthday is for.

Haven't confirmed the price yet but if it is $600 that is about half of what it would cost to have one painted.

				Very cool promo  [thumbsup]
mitt

$600? I think I got the colour therapy for $700. Good price! And they look good too.

that Darmah paint job makes me want to go out and buy an 1100s.  holy ducati that is beautiful!  [bacon]

Brilliant move by Ducati, both in terms of the design and the promo.

When and Where can we find these kits! I NEED to have the Ducati Corse plastics.

the IOM78 & Imola72 skins are killing me.
IMHO, the Imola skins would look best on a black frame.

Ok, this is the first time I am actually liking the new design....awesome colors !!  [clap]

				Update on deal:
I talked to my dealer today and he says I definitely qualify.  Ducati will send the skins to the dealer and the dealer will install them.  Ducati tells them to charge for installation -- I think you'll be easily able to talk them out of that fee since you're buying a bike from them.  He told me 6 weeks... right around time for that 650mi check up.  No word just yet about keeping the old skins... again, should be able to talk the dealer into giving them back fairly easily.

Just checked with a dealer here in San Francisco;
I priced the "Corse" & it is $849 and the "IOM 78" is $749
Go figure ???

My dealer said "About $800". $600 honestly sounds uummmm.......too good to be true.

Takes 10 minutes to remove, 15 if your extra careful. Designed to be a do-it-yourself mod.

High-res photos for all new skins.

tell me somethhing how is a promotion of "get a second skin for free" mean that the dealer is supposed to keep your old body work and give you a second body work?
sounds like in addition or a second skin means you get to keep the original that you buy the bike with.
also what does this do for regiartaiton purposes?
most states have a color of the motorcycle on the regisration, if you get a "red" bike and change it to all black, what does that do if you lose the origina colors? can you change the registration easily?
