Title: Fueling/power issue 2004 s4r
Post by: minnesotamonster on April 20, 2010, 06:32:30 PM
Having an issue with my s4r.

Bike idles fine, and runs smooth at speed, but when I try to really get on it my rpms soar but I have no increase in power. Almost like I have the clutch pulled in and am twisting the throttle.  Happens in every gear at all speeds. Slow acceleration is just fine. Only happens when I grab a handful of throttle.

I'm running boom tubes with an open air box and a Pc3.

Is this a fueling issue that can be corrected by messing with the pc3? Or am I having some sort of clutch issue? Clutch seems to be normal otherwise. Shifts smooth etc.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

If RPMs go up and road speed doesn't your clutch is slipping unless your chain and sprockets are really bad.

Thanks Howie

got it sorted out. My clutch plunger/pushrod was adjusted too far into the master. Backed it out and all is well.
