Title: Ignition advance question
Post by: svr on April 21, 2010, 12:19:16 PM
hi, i've just got the tcip-4 ignition module and had a couple general questions.  the stock map supposedly has 6 deg advance at 0 rpm.  the tcip supplied program starts with a base advance of 10 and then the first data point is 1500 rpm and is also 10 deg.  My question is about this base advance.  Is this essentially the advance from 0 to the first data point and then the base is added to whatever your setting is there?  Say at 2500 rpm my advance is now listed as 16 deg, is the total adv 26 deg or is the base setting only applicable to the region from 0 to the first point.  I ask, because i want to set it to the bone stock map to get a baseline.  the stock map is supposedly 6 deg at 0 rpm.  but what is the base advance that should be entered in the tcip software (0, 6, or something else)?  hope this is clear, so lemme know if you don't follow

thanks!
