There's been some suggestions that once you fit your DP ECU (which comes to you with your Termis) to your M696 or M1100 that the ECU "mates" itself to the gauge and key set of that bike to become a locked/matched set.
Anybody know if this is actually the case?
Anybody bought a used M696/M1100 DP ECU and had it function OK on a second/different bike?
If its correct then anybody wanting to completely switch out of their Termi system - lets say for arguments sake that you wanted to return to stock - would be unable to sell their Temis/DP ECU as a complete setup coz the ECU has been forever married to the first bike and so cannot be used on a different bike???  Me no like  >:(
Tell me it aint so  :-\ .

I know on my bike (695) I would have had to use the red key to marry them. I didn't bother so it is transferable. I'll guess it's the same for the newer ones too.

i bought a the whole lot off ebay here in the uk, the ecu had been on another bike and it worked absolutely fine with mine. The termis were off a bike that the dealer put on so i pressume if the whole marrying the ecu thing was real they would have done it. But i dont have a red key for my 696 only two black ones.

				Hi,
I've bought a used Termi Carbon Kit and I never feel any issue with my M696 pjfa Edition since more than 3000kms and 1 year riding with them.

Just as I (first) thought.   This "red key" business is not relevant to the new (Siemens) monsters - for us its more of a.... red herring.  Had me worried for a moment though.
