Title: What do you use for a home gas dispenser Post by: seevtsaab on April 24, 2010, 02:59:42 AM I hate stopping to feed the Monster, I'm on the edge of every 3 days, usually gas every other from home.
My ethanol-free source is a few miles out iof my way - thru town. I fill a couple typical red 5 gal containers and I've concluded they both suck. I'm sick of dribbling gas all over my bike and killing my self for the privilege. Got a two gallon dispenser that works well? I'd transfer to that from my 5 gal cans. I might revert to a funnel but can imagine how that ends up. Title: Re: What do you use for a home gas dispenser Post by: Speedbag on April 30, 2010, 02:17:40 AM That caddy could be pretty damn handy around home. I lug 5-gallon cans fairly frequently. A little StaBil and one of those.....
Title: Re: What do you use for a home gas dispenser Post by: YellowMonster on April 30, 2010, 05:30:25 AM I use the standard 5 gallon cans and put them on a shelf above the height of my Duc. I then use a super siphon like here: http://www.xtend-a-hitchnorthwest.com/super_siphon.htm (http://www.xtend-a-hitchnorthwest.com/super_siphon.htm) to transfer to the bike. A few shakes and it is going and then just lift the siphon head out of the gas to stop it. It is really easy and I have yet to spill a drop since. Just straighten the hose out to drain it into the bike after taking it out of the gas can. I don't remember where I got mine as I have had it for many years. I just linked to what came-up on a google search.

I have a shoulder height shelf right behind where I park the Duc. A spare for trips with the crew will be handy as everyone else has better range than me, surprise! Glad I already forked over for the extra 2gallon can, whicjh was pretty managable, tho, had to laught as I refilled that from a 5 gallon can, and overflowed gas all over the garage floor, what a dufus! Well the 2G + 2X5G gives me ~13G of fuel, that's 13 days of commuting before I need a rainy day! God forbid I take the Duc to a gas station!
