Title: Re: new imola bellypan from spareshack Post by: stopintime on April 26, 2010, 12:03:09 PM Cool - I don't think I've seen that before [thumbsup]
It's a large piece. Have you considered painting it to blend in more? (engine grey, frame color, white like your seat cowl or a combination of these) Is it a race pan - will it hold oil - was it a straight forward bolt on? not my cup o' tea, but to each his own! Title: Re: new imola bellypan from spareshack Post by: Blackout on April 26, 2010, 04:18:11 PM Looks like a stingray got stuck to the bottom of yer bike.

ya stopintime i talked to my painter and we'll probably be blending it really soon, doesn't hold any oil though, just real straightforward bolt-on. i was a little cautious at first worried that it would be just a cheapass fiberglass piece, but the quality is top-notch. [thumbsup] to spareshack, service was great, always returned my emails in a timely manner, and it got here all the way from the UK in only five days!! here is a before pic also, this was my bike about a month ago, the only mod when i took over was the exhuast, everything else was bone stock, i cored the cans within the first week and raised the bars. i just think it looks kindof "weird" how you can see the exhuast under the engine like that so now the bellypan covers everything up but you still get that "naked" look (http://i968.photobucket.com/albums/ae168/jds0292/oldyeller.jpg) Title: Re: new imola bellypan from spareshack Post by: junior varsity on April 26, 2010, 07:58:57 PM Ah, you've got the classic fairing.
Don't change triples to CycleCat (hard to find now) or any other top triple or you end up losing the mounting location for the brackets for that particular headlight fairing - its different than the newer Monsters. Title: Re: new imola bellypan from spareshack Post by: Bones on April 28, 2010, 07:27:26 AM well, I like it. maybe it's just that extra piece in the back that's throwing some people off.
I agree that it looks too "Naked" under there with just the pipes, even for a naked bike. Title: Re: new imola bellypan from spareshack Post by: JOCKEY750 on May 03, 2010, 02:10:08 PM thanks bones
Title: Re: new imola bellypan from spareshack Post by: redial on May 05, 2010, 10:06:51 AM yeah i think its the peice that goes back a little too far. the lines look like the pan should cut off
and follow the exhaust up but it doesnt. I think it looks good [thumbsup] its not my cup of tea, but what a boring forum if we all did our bikes the same. i definitely like it a lot better than the "chin spoilers" [puke] (no offense chin spoiler ppl) p.s. love the naked belts. Did the previous owner cut one of the belt covers in half?!?! wierd! Title: Re: new imola bellypan from spareshack Post by: Mojo S2R on May 05, 2010, 06:48:49 PM I really like the look of it except for maybe the little tailpiece sticking out behind the exhaust. Overall a very nice looking bike. Well done. [thumbsup]

Did the previous owner cut one of the belt covers in half?!?! wierd! the older monsters have belt covers that are in several pieces. looks like the front piece was removed and all the others left on. Title: Re: new imola bellypan from spareshack Post by: JOCKEY750 on May 06, 2010, 10:10:12 AM when the bike was yellow yes i only took off the front portion, they are in pieces, but then when i was wrenching on it while it was getting painted black, i figured it looked so damn cool and got so many people saying "holy sheet you can see the belts moving dats pretty coo!!" i just took off all the covers!!
