Title: clear coating dull cf

What's the deal on putting a fresh clear coat on carbon fiber that's getting dull?

The clearcoat gives the carbon fiber UV protection to keep it from fading.  If the resin over the carbon is dull, the clearcoat will make it look like new again (and also bring out the flaws in the resin, like pinholes).  If the carbon is starting to turn yellow, it will likely look like shiny yellow/brown carbon fiber if you clear over it.

the only one I've found that wont turn white is polyurethane. It only lasts 6 months, then you get to do it over again. But it does work.

Dull or damaged? You should remove the old stuff before putting on new stuff.
