Title: Gold Colored Cars
Post by: RAT900 on May 01, 2010, 08:25:38 PM
Are cars painted gold only allowed to be sold to geezers?...

or is there something about advanced years that makes old people think a gold-colored car is stately or expensive-looking or classy or something?

do young people in modern industrialized nations (aside from Russia & oil producing ones) buy gold colored cars?

I have seen young people in gold colored cars but clearly one of their grandparents croaked

and the kid got the car because no one else in the surviving family wanted to be seen in a gold 1979 Buick Regal with the white vinyl top

what is with "Gold" as a car color?  Do the old ones buy them so they can find their cars in parking lots? I would think in Florida that would be an exercise in futility

and while I am on the subject what the fark is with these new colors that defy description?

Oh its a nice navy blue car....different angle and ....aggh its ghetto purple....

what do you call that?... Blurple?

Wow, that's quite a rant.

And where in the bible does it say that a man can't fire off some knuckle-children in the privacy of his own neighbor's living room while his neighbor's at work because I don't have a DVD player?   ;D

ROFLMAO   knuckle-children [clap] [clap]  sorry I was car shopping yesterday and the colors were getting to me

as for the Bible I think paying homage to the memory of Onan, the second son of Judah...(hence "Onanism") is covered as a no-go activity although there may very well be exemptions granted if conducting said homage in the neighbor's abode

My mom's new car is Tidewater blue.  Other choices were orange revolution and blackberry pearl.  What is with these names???

Jet Black or Ivory White for me, thanks.

Knuckle-Children   Bwahah

My first car was gold JERK! More like a champagne-gold colored Saturn 2 door. Needless to say I only kept it until I could upgrade to my 00 z28 which I subsequently spun into a wall at 100+ going to SCHOOL.

To quote Price "cocaine is a helluva drug"

I'd think there would HAVE to exceptions made if I didn't own a DVD player.   [beer]

Oh yeah the names are great for these new "colors"  spooge fountain white, shit-brindle, gangrenous yellow....

I already have one black car in the driveway,,,a second black one will look like I am staging a funeral run to the local bone orchard ....

white tends to look cheap on all but a very select few vehicles....like "yeah crazy good price,, it was an Alamo Rent-a-Car fleet auction score, interior's a little funky smelling but I gots some fabreze for that"

Cheap can be a good thing. I have a white '99 S-10, I could drive that 100 mph thru a trooper barracks parking lot and still not be noticed. The vehicle is near invisible and almost impossible to get a ticket in.

As for gold, the original color of my Chevelle is Olympic Gold. When ever the hell I actually succeed in resurrecting that car it certainly will not be the original color.
Although it doesn't look terrible, but not what I'll want.
BTW this is not my car, mine is not anywhere near restored and doesn't even run yet but it is an SS.

some cars look nice in gold, others look like crap. I had a 1994 Jaguar which was awesome. The color was called champagne. The car took second place in the Jag Owners club Councours  d elegance. It was almost a gold color and yes it looked right on the jag but a 2005 corolla in gold looks like some that fell out of an elephants ass.

The price. Seriously. That is about it. I was looking for a midsized SUV, came across a smoking deal, car was in good shape and I bought it. That is really about it.
