How can i rise up the rear section of my Ducati Monster 600, it looks realy bad when i`m sitting on it, if i also put my girl on back of the Monster....Hmmm, can someone tell me how can i rise the rear, Only by adjusting the rear shock or there is something else, Tnx people.
you might want to add some info.
how much do you weigh?
is it stock?
etc.
the stock Ducati springs seem to be made for 160 lb riders.
so if you are more, then you need stronger spring in the rear
there are also ride height adjusters you can use but you'll still have heavy loading issues if you are significantly more than 160.. and then add a second rider...
Here's what I did to raise my 695:

I'm not sure if your 600 has the same style linkage.
You can also put in a stiffer spring. I've just bought a whole replacement shock (from a 749) that I plan on installing, along with a stiffer spring, but it involves a fair bit of work.
FleshY,
If you are exceeding 25-30mm sag adding rear height is only a cosmetic fix to an undersprung rear shock.
Measure your sag and adjust your shock spring preload to hit that range. If you cannot achieve this, install a higher rate spring. Jacking up the rear will not prevent your bike from trying to kill you due to an ill-adjusted suspension. Spend the money on a proper spring, not adjustable link.
Just my .02 (along with 22+ years of riding experience!) ;)

Tnx for the answers, i`m 73 kg. Hight 180 cm, so how i see its not that easy to that "rise" the rear, and maybe you are all right, i will try to "stiff" the susp. a little bit, becouse i can feel it, its to "floopy" but maybe its the style of The Ducati Monster with the rear down. I`m used to Yamaha R6 (before 5 years) that tail up in the sky. Im new Ducati rider, so i will ask i guess more questions :) I just purchase those GREAT mirrors

Its Ducati Monster 2003. Black one :)
at 73kg, the stock spring should be fine. Have a friend help you set sag - you adjust the preload of the rearshock to get it in the appropriate range.
Next, take a look at how the linkage is set up - your bike has a ride-height "bar" next to the shock - if the eye-bolts are threaded all the way in, then you have a bit of room to work there. Problem is, it isn't trivial to tinker with it while its on the bike in its OEM form. There are adjustable center pieces that you can replace it with that work well for under 100, and tricked out adjustable complete rods for 3-500 (made of aluminum or titanium).
Since the bike is a 600 you probably have the "hoop" suspension. 2001 and older 2 valve Monsters have the hoop suspension. If so, the rear height can be adjusted a bit by disconnecting the heim joints and turning them in or out. Before doing that, adjust sag and check ride height. Check ride height in the front also.
Hi FleshY :)
One year ago I had the same problem like you have now.
You can check here:http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=28039.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=28039.0)
At the bottom of the page there is a link to one very useful site with many maintaince and modifications info for our precious bikes.
There is tutorial about the rear height adjustment too:

This site and DMF are the best places in internet where you can find the answers of your Ducati questions [thumbsup]

He says 600, but there is no 600 listed in 03 on the Ducati site.
I wonder if it's a 620?
Nate is right, 03 was a 620/800/1000 year.
'03??? I guess it is a 620, no hoop.
Well, be it 583 or 618, the principle is pretty much the same. Turn the eye-bolt things "out" for more ride height, and still check sag / preload to make sure its set for you - including after you mess with ride height.
Tnx all you ppl, i have read some usefull info, i will try it this weekend,
And the bike is 2003 (THE FRAME IS 2003) But the Engine is 1998, Thats why i have 2003(frame), 600cc (carburated) engine. I know i was a little bit confusing.
Tnx Again.
The frame is what matters here. '03 is non-hooped. There should be a visible rod running next to the shock.
