Title: Want boomtubes but just saw the new dark arrows for M1100 Post by: golgofett on May 01, 2010, 11:36:36 PM I have been eyeing boomtubes for a while now for my M1100. It looks like I would save a quite a bit of weight and would change the balance of the bike. How would boomtubes affect handling, etc...? I also think they look badass.
I just saw the pics of the dark arrows, they look sharp and about $300 cheaper. Does anyone know the weight savings over the stock on the arrows? I could put the savings towards some other goodies...open clutch, maybe new rearsets. I am sure they both sound great. Wish there were pics of the monoboom? exhaust that motocreations has been talking about to know whether to wait or not? What would you do? And Boomtubes are a complete under-engine replacement system. Its like comparing chocolate and sex - both are nice but somewhat different. Mostly.

I wish I had known about the Boom Tubes before I got the Termis (bought the Termis from the dealer at the same time I bought the bike). I have no problem with the Termis and the sound is GREAT; but, Boom Tubes give the rear of a bike an open look that I think is sweet.
Only thing I've heard is that Boom Tubes have a raspier sound and lack the deep bass note of the Termis. I definitely wouldn't like that. |
