I wonder if they caught it early before it went boom or the assholes that built it make the beast with two backsed up and it fizzled out on them?

regardless, quick thinking by the vendor to notice the car park and notify authorities within 2 minutes.

People are watching. That is good.

Was that a subtle way of letting us know how young you are?

Failed ghetto bomb.

I was in high school during 9/11.  Didn't think I'd ever be able to recall a time in my life that I could actually remember so vividly, and I'm on the other side of the country just watching it from TV.

I was watching everything from a roof of a hospital in the Bronx. The closest any co-workers were was at Tweed Courthouse. It's close enough that when they ran to the roof there to see what was going on after they heard the 1st plane hit that they were hit with the heat wave from the 2nd.
Not the type of day I want to experience again and I was only very minimally impacted. Pure hell for anyone more directly impacted.

i was in class and my school has a direct open line sight to the towers since its right next to the pier. maybe 2-3 miles away.

i was in 8th grade then. What is really strange is i took pics with my camera, brand new film.

I went to go get it developed. they said it came out bad. and couldnt give it to me. so i asked for my negatives back, they said they were destroyed in the process.

I worked in the North Tower after the first failed attempt with the truck bomb in the garage inspired by that Santa Claus-looking mullah

I managed a department of 15 engineers and every other day as we went through the lobby to the express elevators to get to the upper floors there were cops with bomb dogs making the rounds probably as a result of one call-in or another.  We were always reminded that the Towers were a target.

I had a beautiful corner office that looked out on the harbor and NJ...the view was like a large WPA Depression-era Artist's mural depicting American Commerce...trains in motion, ships and planes moving into port ....helicopters at lower altitudes darting about like dragonflies....

I could just look at it all for hours. Architecturally the Towers were junk...the views they offered were incomparable

In 1999 my corporate masters told me they had space available for us a few blocks north at our old HQ Building.  I moved myself and my department out of the Towers as soon as I was able. A few of my engineers were annoyed as they were a short walk to the water taxi's to NJ and for some to the Staten Island ferry.  The move was an inconvenience.

I just told them that it was a good idea not to be there...reminded them I spent a good chunk of my childhood in Saudi Arabia and had every confidence they would be back,, knowing the people the culture..and I asked them if they weren't tired of being reminded that we worked in a target by the endless patrols of bomb dogs and security

We left and headed north a few blocks.  I went on to other assignments but in the weeks following the attack I did get 3 calls from former workers from my old team...recalling our conversations...basically saying "too bad you were right"

Sometimes I have to go into NYC to my office...I come up the subway stairs...I recall that I used to be able to look up and see the Towers from the top of those stairs...some days the upper reaches of the Towers were aswirl in clouds or mist, sometimes they were shining arrogantly in the sunlight

Now when I look from the top of those subway stairs I am reminded that the sky there is empty...the office where I used to be able to look out my windows in awe and amusement at the giant living mural of American Commerce ...well that place is just a piece of air now

oh and yes...they will be back again...

how when and where is anyone's guess...my money is on dirty bombs

I believe it was former British PM Margaret Thatcher who once said about the IRA terror attacks...."we have to be lucky all the time....they only have to be lucky once"

:P dirty bombs, that may the one I least want to see.
I doubt I've sufficiently poisoned my body enough yet to ward off radiation.
Now where's my nightly shotglass of anti-freeze and concentrated degreaser?
