I've used the ether trick. You don't even have to remove the wheel from the truck.

It also sets the grass on fire. [thumbsup]

the belt was cool.  I didn't feel the love for the bead trick, since they had a freaking air hose right there they could have probably used.

Sometimes an air hose works for that.  Ive only mounted 4 car tires on my own, and only 2 would seat the bead with just air.

The other two needed help. . .

with fire.

gotta get the tire to seal close enough to the bead for the air to work...

first time i saw that trick was on a show about arctic research expeditions.. if they killed a tired in the field, they'd have to mount the new one that way since they were in the middle of friggin nowhere.
