Title: Waiting for stitches :-/
Post by: TresGatos on May 04, 2010, 08:44:14 AM
Dropped the 695 on gravel. I'll be ok I guess.
Hope the shift lever can be bent back or I'll have a
one gear bike. Waiting for a doc to see the knee.

sorry to hear that!  Glad you're ok though  [thumbsup]

as far as the shift lever, make sure you give it a little heat before you start bending.  It's very easy to cause cracks if you don't do it properly, let us know if you need anything

He sent me a photo, trust me, not safe for lunch - nasty gash across the top of the knee - he's at Presby getting it cleaned and stitched - I can probably get him back across town to N. Dallas - I think the lil' Monster may need a trailer ride - I have to work later so maybe someone can pitch in there ...

Rich is an expert at riding Monsters stuck in one gear!! [laugh]

Seriously, really sorry about the drop and the knee. Just glad it wasn't any worse. Where's the scooter now? Is it safe? I have a trailer set up for bike hauling and a pick up and I'm always looking for something to do. ;D

They all use the same spline at the motor - old MTS and HYM are interchangeable at the lever (iirc) and all DSS Monsters with OEM rearsets should be interchangeable too.

Rich,

Did Dan contact you? I sent him my home and cell #s but haven't heard from him yet. I'm still up for getting the bike with my trailer... or helping in any other way. Anyone have Dan's cell #, if so please PM me.

Thanks.

haven't heard back from him yet; don't have his number.  if he lives fairly near the mall it shouldn't be a problem for me to get it to his place; just need to have bryna back by 6ish so that she can head out for practice

Yes, in spite of our badass, kick your teeth out, spitting, cussing, knife/gun wielding, hooligan attitude we are a pretty decent bunch. ;D No kidding, I (and Jennifer) am still in awe of the outpouring of help from the group when I broke my neck. You guys and her friends helped her get through all the trauma and drama. [thumbsup] Me, I was fine... so doped up I lost two weeks of my life. Have no idea what happened. [laugh]

Glad all of this has worked out for Dan. Doesn't sound like the bike damage is too bad. His knee sounds worse than the bike! Thanks George for PMing Dan's phone #.

Dan,

Just saw your post. I happen to have a set of crutches... don't ask me why. [bang] I could run them up to the store before you go home. [thumbsup] Call me.

oh and as for crutches I have metal ones not wooden ones like Fastwin from 1934.   :P
let me know and you can borrow them if you promise to put Duc stickers on it.
