Title: Driving to Laguna Seca- Need advice.
Post by: ICON on May 04, 2010, 11:59:07 AM
This is my first year driving to Laguna for MotoGP. I'll be taking my daughter this year. I'll be coming from Whittier-605/60/5 area and plan on staying in Salinas. Anyone here know a direct, no frills route that will get me there in no time at all...via Car.

Please post up. Thank you!  [popcorn]

Though I prefer going up the 101, you can take the 5 to 152, then west to the 101, then a little south to Salinas.  Or take the 46 through Cholame and on to the 101 at Paso Robles (probably quickest??)

I think the 5N to the 46W to the 101N would be one of the quickest. Easiest would be 101N all the way but traffic will suck. If you run the 101 all the way, be sure to drop by SLO and say hi.  :)

For your added pleasure, Gilroy (just north of Salinas) will be having their garlic festival at the sametime as Laguna Seca...Races or garlic ice cream??? I know, I'm still debating too.

earplugs and headphone ear muffs... saw a little kid last year with just earplugs and it looked like he grimaced in pain as the bikes flew by

Thanks guys. She's 13 going on 26. Last year I was thinking of ear plugs for myself.  [thumbsup] I warned her about the noise and she can't wait or more so fathom the sound. She's going to think we're at a air plane show...

5 and then cut across at the 152 through gilroy... there is an outlet mall that your daughter may be interested in there... then come back down south on the 101 to salinas.... Have fun  [thumbsup]

i travel up from long beach 2 or 3 times a year to monterey and take this route, usually about 5.5 hrs....

I had a pair of custom plugs made while I waited last year.  MUCH better than the foam jobbies
