Title: DP tach - how to wire in
Post by: ID_DUC_MON on May 08, 2010, 04:28:14 AM
I got a used DP tach for my carbie. It is the half-moon LED one that comes with a carbon face and sits above the idiot light cluster. It didn't however come with a plug, just has a green, black, and red wire. Any words of wisdom from mob on how to wire this thing into my bike?

I'm guessing...

Green is signal from the coil or black box.

Red is 12V power.

Black is ground.

If smoke comes out I was wrong. ;)

That's the way I remember mine being wired. Good luck on it working.

Your best bet would be toss it in the trash and get a real tach.  [thumbsup]
