I know that this has been posted many times but i am having trouble finding an answer within old threads. I am 200lbs and My existing spring (95 M9000 is rated for a much smaller person.
Could anyone tell me which replacement spring to consider? I recall the number being something like 1092-31....
Thanks!
I'm not 100% sure of the geometry of the M900, but the spring I'm buying to fit to my 695 is an Ohlins 01091 31/95, which has a 95kg/mm rate.
Ducati up north have a table on their website which recommends 10n/mm (98kg/mm) for a 200 lb rider on an M900. The closest spring is an Ohlins 01091 34/100, with 100kg/mm rate.
Here's the link to their tables: http://www.ducati-upnorth.com/tech/suspensionspring.php (http://www.ducati-upnorth.com/tech/suspensionspring.php)
Bear in mind that a large change from the stock spring may necessitate revalving.

I'm 180 ish and have a 10.0 ohlins spring on my bike.
I'll look for the first series of numbers if you want but I think a 10.5 would be right for you.
I would agree with dp
at the time I was 215-220 I had 11.0 on mine
let me know what spring you need. I have on hand a brand new ohlins spring that ive been trying to get rid of.
I wrote down the actual rate somewhere, but id have to find it.
THe only thing is, i dont know if your spring is different from a modern monsters spring. The only thing i know is, it is bolt on replacement for the OEM springs of the older monster line up (pre 696).
what sort of weight of person is the original spring meant for?

being a progressive spring. its suppose to be decent across a broad range of weights. but really, maybe 150tops.

sorry to be picky, but the replacement for a monster spring is a 1092, superbikes are 1091

No, pickiness is good. I'm putting the spring on a 749s/999 shock. I had foolishly assumed the springs for monster shocks and sbk shocks were interchangeable. Is the difference unloaded length?

they are interchanable. I have 3 springs siting next to me.
one is a 999 stock spring, the other an ohlins spring that fits on a monster shock, and the other is a monster S2R spring.
the only difference is length.
