Title: This V-max sounds downright evil!
Post by: Oldfisti on May 08, 2010, 04:03:18 PM
Like an angry small V8  [evil]

8 sec pass is nothing to sneeze at either...

Saw a pack of them out in Phoenix awhile back.  I think that one was louder than all 4!!  :o

Once of the guys had his all blacked out.  Looked nice!

156 in just over 8 sec.  [thumbsup]

Wow, that was impressive.  The sound at idle was most definitely evil [evil].  I've pretty much ignored the latest V-Max because it was too expensive, too heavy, and too over-the-top.  It looked awesome in the profile shot in the beginning.  It looks long and low like the dragster it is.

That does it.

I will one day own a full-out Drag-racing motorcycle.

That was simply too-cool!  [evil] [evil] [evil] [evil] [evil] [evil]

That's got a lot of the same sound characteristics that made those Sport Classic Zard pipes sound so bad ass.  The revving right before the race launch.. yeah...

My M750 sounds a bit like that.  It's not going to be doing 156 in the quarter though!

It's cool and all...

But...can someone please explain to me why 2010 Vmax's price is EIGHTEEN LARGE?  [laugh]

keep telling yourself that. your missing 2 cylinders. 14 valves and like another 750ccs. [laugh]

Vmax is suppose to have alot of high tech shit on it. fly by wire, or "ride by wire" slipper clutch etc.dont know wher ethey get 18 grand though, id expect some premium suspension at that point.

A bike like my BMW S 1000 RR was Drag Race tested ( bone stock ) in the June issue of Sport Rider .

It did the 1/4 mile in 156.1 mph.

I don't think that V-Max is bone stock .

Testing has been promising; early runs have gotten the S 1000 RR down to a 9.37 1/4 mile, incredible for a stock bike!

I'm eager for the day I have my bike broken in !

I don't know if I can hang on at that speed and in that quick of acceleration.

I don't really need to go that fast....0-135 is a pretty good rush.

All that speed ...and it handles great !

Have you ever actually heard my M750?  It doesn't exactly sound like most other M750's...  Or most other Ducatis, 2V or 4V for that matter.

I can attest to his bike somehow being louder than if it were straight pipes. Must be running it on moonshine or something.

I'm right at the cusp of obnoxious I'm sure...  At least it's desmo-tuned obnoxious!

it was hilarious. one dude on a japanese bike turned to see a couple of bikes coming up and was all happy until i got back on the gas in the turn. he jumped and nearly ran into a wall.

i thought i was going to be deaf when we got out of the tunnell. lol.
