Title: Sunday pick me up Post by: FastAndLight on May 09, 2010, 03:24:57 PM It has been a rough week for me. Work has been crazy, my personal life has been difficult and stressful, and I hadn't had an opportunity to ride. After spending 6 hours in the cage yesterday and today I got home, it was Sunday afternoon and I had stuff to take care of around the house. Then the Sunday afternoon / evening anxiety started to set in where I start thinking about all of the stuff I need to get done this coming week. [bang]
I looked out the window at the Monster under the cover. 30 seconds later the gear was coming on. 5 minutes later the cover was off and the bike was idling. I punched the gas and before even leaving the condo complex I was being stupid and feeling better. [evil] I don't think I got out of third gear during the entire 50 mile ride, but I know I hit the rev limiter in every gear I was in. ;D I have been swapping between the Triumph and the Monster recently and after not riding this week I guess I had forgotten how quickly the Monster can just wipe my mind clean and make me feel awesome. I feel much better now. I love my monster. On another note... I've started wearing ear plugs because I need to keep what little hearing I have, but with the Monster I can still feel the bike, and when I'm really getting on the gas I can hear it well. I think this contributes to me going much faster but being more relaxed. Thanks, that's all I've got. Leaning over in a corner prevents thoughts of work (and other bullshit) from invading. Glad you had a chance to have some fun and make the rest of the world disappear for a bit. sac Title: Re: Sunday pick me up Post by: slyfox on May 09, 2010, 05:24:37 PM It's a good thing to know how to loosen up & enjoy life ...... Title: Re: Sunday pick me up Post by: DoubleEagle on May 09, 2010, 06:53:23 PM It's the one place nobody can find me unless I want to be found.
I can be in 8 different counties in one afternoon. From wide open farm land to deep in the Forest . Riding through State Parks , Covered Bridges, all the twisty roads I want, to deep valleys w, Caves & Water Falls to touching a Metropolis like Columbus. What a great way to go through Life. That would be why I ride rain, shine, hot, cold, etc. Also why I turn my 16 mile ride from work to home into a 31 mile trip through the country. Take it when you can get it, I guess.
