Title: Wrench icon next to speedometer
Post by: Dukatie on May 13, 2010, 10:51:12 AM
Hi all,
I am the proud new owner of an 09 Monster 696...but unfortunately not the owner of an owner's manual...so this may be a fairly simple problem and I apologize if it's something very easily answered in the manual, but I noticed on my last ride that a little picture of wrench showed up next to the speedometer display. Can anyone tell me what this means? Is it something specific, or is it just telling me that the bike needs serviced in some way and I have to figure out how? Thanks a lot!

I got it with just under 500 miles on it and I've put about 150 on it since then. It was bought used with a salvaged/reconstructed title - dropped once at low speed and was subsequently checked out and repaired by a Ducati dealer. I believe the major repair done was welding a crack in the subframe.

I think it's ready for its first service.

+1 That's the service minder. It's just asking for it's first check up.

Since it's a salvage you probably didn't get an owners manual. You should be able to get a PDF version on the Ducati site.

Thanks everyone! I was able to download an owners manual from the Ducati website and it said that the bike was programmed to indicate that it needs service at 600 miles. Thanks!
