Title: Won't start up!!
Post by: Toshride on May 15, 2010, 10:21:10 AM
Bought my bike 3 months ago. Older 2000 monster. I've had no problems with it until yesterday. It just won't start up.
I go to start it and it sound like it's about to kick over and then it doesn't. 3 or 4 loud exhaust blow outs. The red oil light came on, but I just got an oil change maybe only 1000 miles ago. Don't know much about bikes, except how to ride them. Any advice before I take it in to my mechanic would be appreciated.

Model would help,
but sounds like a weak battery.

OK, so it's carbed.
Oil light nothing to worry about, until started it hasn't built up oil pressure yet.

So I should try charging the battery up and see if that works.

Won't hurt to charge the battery, but if the bike cranks over well that is not your problem.  If you are taking your bike to a mechanic and you need to or think you need to tell him/her how to fix your bike you need a new mechanic.
