I went to the Multistrada 1200 launch at Seacoast Sport Cycle last night.
I scheduled a test ride tomorrow morning.
I have a really bad feeling about this...

It sounds like you are destined to own a new bike... "Use the force, Luke"
the force got Luke...

You can't feel as sick as the day I went to the launch of the " New " Maserati.
Just went to look.
Came home with a $133, 000 BMW Z-8 :o

Must feel like that one day when I was a the mall. I walked by Jamba Juice and bought a regular size Mango-a-go-go when I wasn't even thirsty. I was regreting the purchase when I got to Macy's... [cheeky]

? i have no idea what you are getting at dolph.. you went to see the new maserati but you ended up with a bmw instead?
the story should have ended that you got the maserati, not the bmw.
Pic of the new bike when you get it ;D

Not if you've seen a Z8 and a Maserati...
u only leave once
Trigger = pulled. Looks as if I'm #9 on my dealer's list.
The test ride did it.
Guess it's time to start writing the "for sale" ad for the 696.
I should be happier about this.
yeah i understand your itchy trigger finger on this one.
this bike makes all kind of sense. just wish the nose was prettier. but in black it's less obvious.

My son refers to it as "hideous." I figure I won't see it much while riding.

I it true Mutistrada is Italian for "ugly bike"?
Seriously-I've seen one attractive one-Triple J made it.

I am happy about it. I'm just also really torn about the Monster. I simply don't ride enough each year to come anywhere near being able to justify 2 bikes.
Who says you have to justify it?
the wife....
Maybe trade in the wife? ???
I keed, I keed [cheeky]
Quote from: Mojo S2R on May 17, 2010, 02:20:25 AMMaybe trade in the wife? ???
The wife's the one who pushed me to go ahead and put down a deposit rather than wait and think about it.
In part, I do have to justify it to her since it's her resources I'll be spending. That's for my own reasons, though, not because she requires that I justify anything to her.
There are already 2 cars, a Vespa, 2 Monsters, and a big ol' tractor in the barn and only 2 drivers. 3 Ducatis and a scooter would make no sense at all.

what kind of MotoGuzzi do you have in the barn?

That nose adds 5hp according to DNA. I like the way it looks and i wish i could buy one!

You're right. I think I would do the same thing. It would probably be hard but one of the Monsters would have to go. I'm not as lucky as you though and only have the one.

I totally agree with mstevens and Mojo, I don't need to justify what I do to my wife, just communicate what I'm doing and she knows that if I do something, is for a reason. And at this time, I have no reason to make purchases other than take out and fuel for the one and only Monster in the family...
well if you didnt have 2 696's. maybe an 1100 and a 696 you could justify 3 Ducatis

Didn't you steal her 620 and then trade it on a 696...
and only then buy her a new bike? ;D

No, it's worse than that!
I started this whole ridiculousness with a 620 a few years ago. My wife then wanted a bike of her own and kept finding fault with anything that wasn't a Monster, but we eventually found a really nice 696 for her. I felt lust in my heart so went out and found my own 696 and sold my 620.
She wrecked her 696 last year so we recently bought a leftover '09 696 for her. Barely 2 weeks later I've ordered the MTS1200S so am now planning to sell my 696, when it would have made much better financial sense for her to have taken my perfectly-good 696 and for me to wait, bikeless, for the Multi. If only I were better at predicting the future!
So, basically, since we started with a 150cc Vespa in December of 2005, by the end of this summer we will have been through a total of 4 Monsters and a Multistrada. They say the first hit won't hurt you, but they just say that to get you hooked...
